The 2017 edition of Coachella Festival will happen on April 14-16 and April 21-23.
Spanning the two weekends of April 14th-16th and April 21st-23rd, Coachella returns for its 18th edition and will once again be held at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
The organisers announced on Tuesday (January 3rd) that its landed a superstar name for the Saturday nights in the shape of Beyonce, who released her lauded album Lemonade less than a year ago. While she's helped her husband Jay-Z headline, and then appearing with her younger sister Solange during her slot in 2014, Bey has never played the festival in her own right.
The summer starts here.
It's always assumed that Summer is the season for music festivals, despite the fact that many continue well into the Fall and, indeed, begin very early in the Spring; SXSW, for example, has already been and gone. So what does April and May have in store ahead of the official Summer months?
Just a little reminder that music festival season is well under way, the Spring has fallen and with it come numerous fun events and all before we even get halfway into the year.

Ice Cube has said N.W.A. will reunite at Coachella.
"I've got some tricks up my sleeves,” Ice Cube said. “I'm going to try to bring the members of NWA together. Give everybody a little history lesson on Ice Cube and NWA, West Side Connection, everything I've been doing over the years.”

Coachella weekend 2, did Outkast fare any better second time around?
The Coachella festival has closed its gates for another year, but not before it got an almighty second weekend send off. Last weekend the festival brought plenty of star performances, special surprises and maybe a slight tinge of disappointment when it came to one of the most anticipated acts. So how did weekend two fare and most importantly were Outkast any better the second time around?
Outkast had to prove themselves after last weekend's disaster
Last weekend Outkast’s much hyped reunion was met with resounding negativity as poor sound quality and bad production values marred their set. One week later and it seems the duo have learnt from their mistakes as Billboard reports Andre 3000 and Big Boi took to the stage, “strutting with an emboldened confidence light-years from the standoffish attitude that came through the first weekend.”
That stubborn rumour that Katy and R-Patz are more than just friends won't go away.
Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson could be dating, if their recent appearance at the Coachella Festival is anything to go by. The pair were spotted hanging out in the VIP area of the California bash. An eyewitness told Celebuzz, "They arrived separately 10 minutes apart from one another around 1:30 am. The two met up at the VIP section during Major Lazer's set and shared a friendly hug."
Katy Perry Was Seen Being Very Friendly With Rob Pattinson At Coachella On Saturday.
Pattinson and Perry are known to have been close friends for years but every so often it is strongly rumoured that the celeb duo are friendlier than friends. They were seen hanging out together at the H&M Loves Music Party Saturday night (12th April) and snapped together by fans nearby.
It wasn't Outkast's smoothest show to date, but fans were just happy to have Andre and Big Boi reunited on stage .
Outkast – aka Big Boi and Andre 3000 – reunited for the first time in 10 years at Coachella Saturday night. It was a pretty big deal. The set was broadcast live, so even those unlucky souls who couldn’t shell out for the festival/didn’t feel like traveling for hours to have the three dustiest, most exhausting days of their lives, got to see Outkast perform. The gig generated 90,000 tweets in 24 hours, and by Monday afternoon the recorded set had been viewed more than 1.7 million times, according to NPR.
Andre's most recent endeavor was playing Jimi Hendrix in a biopic, to be released later this year.
There’s a lot of excitement in the air right now about the reunion, especially since Andre and Big Boi announced their 2014 festival tour. So far the tour includes 18 dates, with 40 gigs promised, but Outkast have made it clear that the reunion is not permanent. The duo are calling it a “victory lap” – a thank you to their loyal fans.
Saturday was a rough day at Coachella, but definitely worth it for those who braved the storm
If you’re at Coachella this year, you won’t be reading this story and if you are… well, this might just make things worse, but here’s a rundown of the best things you’re missing anyway. Saturday saw a huge dust storm rip through Coachella Valley on Saturday, but diehard fans stuck it out anyway for Muse’s headlining gig. The English rockers performed festival staples like "Hysteria," "Resistance," and "Magic," but a large portion of the Coachella crowd left the field early as high winds swept sand and dust across the festival field, Reuters reports.
Muse went for festival favorites and a Nirvana tribute.
After all the hype, technical difficulties may have ruined their big return
Outkast made their long awaited comeback at Coachella, topping last night’s bill and making their first stateside performance for 12 years. But with all that expectation came only disappointment, if The Guardian’s review is anything to go by.
Outkast's Big Boi poses with fans
“It began promisingly, with what seemed like all 75,000 festival-goers attempting to find their own space to dance in the crowd,” wrote Rebecca Nicholson in a daming, 2-star review. “But that initial excitement at simply seeing Outkast on stage, together – for many of the young spectators, this will have been their first time – quickly ebbed away, and soon with it, the audience.”

West Palm Beach quartet Surfer Blood are set to thrill crowds once again with their upcoming festival spots.
Florida four-piece Surfer Blood had an incredibly busy summer last year doing the festival rounds in support of their album 'Pythons', but can we expect a similar year for 2014?
Well, maybe. We're incredibly excited about their forthcoming appearance at California's hottest music and arts festival Coachella, and we can only hope that the rest of the world will be treated to similar thrills. They will be performing on April 13th and April 20th alongside artists such as Blood Orange, Daughter, AlunaGeorge and Krewella, which will make for a fun time socially if not musically. 'As far as festivals go, I like the camaraderie between the bands', vocalist John revealed in a video interview. 'You're all in the backstage area together and it feels like you're all just at this summer camp for adults.'
Coachella is litterally the hottest festival of the year, so if you're off to soak in the sun, here's 10 acts you really can't afford to miss.
The Coachella festival always manages to bring out the big names for its annual two weekend spectacular in April. This year, organizers have outdone themselves with a feast of big name acts that will take to Coachella’s sun soaked stage. From the relatively new wave makers like Lorde and Bastille to heavyweights such as Muse and of course the reunited Outkast there is something for everyone in the Californian sun. In order to really whet your appetite, we’re running down the 10 acts you simply cannot afford to miss at this year’s Coachella Festival.

Finally, the Outkast guys are back
It doesn’t seem right to be talking about the international headliners set to grace sun-drenched climes of Coachella 2014, not when January still plagues us so. But with Andre 3000 and Big Boi set to make a return as Outkast, there isn’t a lot else to talk about.
Andre 3000 and Big Boi are working together again
It’s confirmed: Outkast will be headlining the festival alongside Muse and Arcade fire in a line-up stellar enough to rival the world famous Glastonbury, which is also set to be headlined by the recently returned Reflektors.

Queens of the Stone Age, The Replacements, Beck and The Knife are also among the top-billed performers
Coachella 2014 will be returning to Indio, California, this spring for a two-weekend spectacular that will see some of the world's biggest performers gather in one polo field in the middle of the desert. This week the full line-up for the latest incarnation of the ever-popular festival was announced, with the bill yet another feast for the eyes (and eventually the ears too).
Big Boi and Andre 3000 will reunited for the headline performance
Eight years since their last album and eventual hiatus, Outkast will reform to headline the first day of the festival, which will kick start on the weekend of 11-13 April. The Grammy-winning hip-hop duo will be joined on the first day by fellow returnees The Knife, who released their first album in seven years - the acclaimed Shaking the Habitual - in 2013 and The Replacements, who reformed in 2012. Ellie Goulding, Chromeo, Haim, A$AP Ferg, Bryan Ferry, DJ Falcon and many others will also appear on the first day.

Prince has finally decided that the internet is not "over" and has joined Twitter!
Prince has decided to grace us with his presence on Twitter. The elusive and technophobic singer, who famously declared in 2010 that the "internet's completely over", has finally decided to join the social networking site. Posting his comments under the name '3rdeyegirl', he named his account for the band who has been accompanying him on his tour this year.

Although Prince initially chose not to control the account himself (presumably allowing representatives to Tweet for him) he took charge on Tuesday (13 August), announcing his presence by writing "PRINCE'S FIRST TWEET. TESTING.1,2."

A Week in Videos... Undoubtedly the most eagerly-anticipated video of the week comes from Daft Punk, who return to the scene with ‘Get Lucky.’ Featuring Pharrell on vocals and the legend that is Nile Rogers on guitar, the track has already broken daily play records on Spotify and quickly became one of the most talked-about tracks online. A classic in the making, Roger’s distinctive guitar sound lends the track an authentic disco edge.
Heavy on the expletives, low on production costs, this Frank Turner video for ‘Plain Sailing Weather’ sees the angry troubadour continuing the confessional vibes of his last single ‘Recovery.’ Playing with his band in a church, the track begins with Frank playing alone, with his guitar, before the band kick in with him for the chorus.
Was the switch anything to do with the poor attendance of Stone Roses' set last weekend?
It seems that Stone Roses reunion fever hasn’t quite made it over the pond just yet. After a disappointingly small crowd showed up to watch the Madchester legends at the first weekend of Coachella, Blur have now switched billing places with them and will headline at the second weekend of this year’s festival. However, the festival’s promoter insists that the switch was always planned.
Paul Tollet, the president of the concert promoter Goldenvoice insists “When the [lineup] poster came out, when we announced the show, each weekend's poster was different." He told Rolling Stone magazine: "The first weekend said 'Stones Roses/Blur' and the second weekend said 'Blur/Stone Roses.' This was planned from day one. It was a dual bill and we'd flip-flop them… There's not a chance I could take a headliner and demote them." Watching the Stone Roses last weekend, The Guardian’s Tim Jonze reported “There was something strange about seeing this most iconic of bands shuffling through Fools Gold to a crowd one-fifth of the size of Tegan and Sara's next door.”
Meanwhile, back home in the UK, The Stone Roses’ reputation is still very much intact and with a trailer recently released for Shane Meadows’ documentary about the band, enthusiasm for teh band's continued existence shows no sign of abating.
'Inglourious Basterds' actress Diane Kruger and her boyfriend 'Dawson's Creek' star Joshua Jackson enjoy a dance at the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival during The Violent Femmes' live set. The recently reunited rock band can be heard playing their song 'Kiss Off' from their 1983 self-titled debut album.

Numerous celebrities were spotted enjoying Coachella Festival this weekend at Indo, California
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has seen some of the most exciting new artists and the most revered established acts perform to stoked crowds all weekend and given the sheer magnitude of acclaim some of this years performers are routinely given, the it comes as little surprise to know that the festival was teeming with famous faces in the crowd as well as on stage. The festival came to an end last night (April 14) with Sunday headliners and California natives the Red Hot Chili Peppers providing the sweet icing to go atop what was a marvellous weekend.
Jared Leto, of 30 Seconds to Mars fame, stuck to being a bystander this weekend
The festival line up offered such diverse musical stylings as The Stone Roses, Wu Tang Clan, New Order, Phoenix and TNGHT and there was plenty more on offer to see for the regular punters, although most of the famous faces around for the festival kept to themselves in the backstage area. In the most unsuspecting of places to slow down with her partying ways, Lindsay Lohan was spotted on Friday night in the backstage area awaiting Blur’s 10 p.m. set whilst she minded her 16-year-old brother, Cody - this is a side to Lohan that we don't see enough and frankly one that we need to see more of.
How do you top having a dead man headline your festival? Well, in all honestly, you’re not going to. Coachella’s talent bookers must have been scratching their heads in bewilderment when it came to topping last year’s Tupac hologram and they’ve done the best they can, given the lack of deceased artists willing and able to play Coachella 2013.
The two Friday nights (the festival takes place both on April 12 – 14 and April 19 – 21) are looking like a highlight for fans of the Britpop revival, with Blur and Stone Roses lending a very British end to the evening. A newly invigorated Yeah Yeah Yeahs (well, Karen O’s dyed her hair blonde, does that count?) also play the Friday, as well as Modest Mouse, Lou Reed and Jurassic 5. Saturday has the French band Phoenix headlining, in support of their recently-announced new album. They’ll be preceded by British electronic gloom-pop band The XX, as well as Postal Service and New Order. The line-up for the Sunday nights is a slightly heavier one, with Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds making yet another return (Cave will be raking it in that weekend, as his other band Grinderman also play the Fridays), Social Distortion and Wu Tang Clan.
Coachella always has an impressive array of legendary / stalwart alternative acts as well as the hottest new bands you’ve only just heard of. What they haven’t got, is anything that’s going to grab the headlines, or the public’s attention in the same way that Tupac’s hologram did.
This last time year music fans were agog at the quality of the line-up that Coachella Festival pulled together. It was a bill that had everything, from the likes of rap statesmen like Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre, to the UK’s biggest alternative band Radiohead, a reformed At The Drive-In, blues rock giants The Black Keys and everyone’s favourite cabin dweller Bon Iver.
A year on and we’re still awaiting the announcement of Coachella 2013's bill, and as usual the rumors are flying around thick and fast as to who'll be playing on the weekends of April 12 and April 19, 2013. Everyone else is piping up with their own rumors on who’ll be appearing at the double weekender in April, so we thought we’d chip in with five that we think are likely to be making an appearance.
