The Republican National Committee has voted unanimously to boycott any GOP presidential debates planned by CNN or NBC if they proceed with plans to produce and broadcast films about Hillary Clinton. A documentary about Clinton is being planned by CNN and a miniseries about her starring Diane Lane is in the works at NBC. A resolution described the planned broadcasts as political ads masked as unbiased entertainment. Said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus: We're done putting up with this nonsense. There are plenty of other outlets. We'll still reach voters, maybe more voters. But CNN and NBC anchors will just have to watch on their competitors' networks. In a statement, CNN said that the Clinton documentary was only in the planning stages. We encouraged all interested parties to wait until the program premieres before judgments are made about it. Unfortunately, the RNC was not willing to do that. RNC spokesman Sean Spicer told Politico.com that the boycott would also include NBC's Spanish-language channel Telemundo and CNN Español. Meanwhile, the Hollywood Reporter reported late Friday that Fox Television Studios has canceled plans to produce the NBC miniseries.
