Clive Owen has joined the cast of 'Maggie's Plan'.

The 49-year-old actor has signed on to star alongside Greta Gerwig and Julianne Moore in the romantic comedy, which will be directed by Rebecca Miller, according to Variety.com.

The 'Children of Men' star will play John who is captured in an unusual love triangle, based on the screenplay written by Miller from a story by Karen Rinaldi.

Rachael Horovitz, who was nominated for an Academy Award for 'Moneyball' in 2011, will share producer credits with Damon Cardasis and Miller, via Round Films and Specialty Films.

Filming is set to start in New York City later this year.

Meanwhile, Owen - who won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his role in 2004 film 'Closer' alongside Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman - has most recently appeared in 'Words and Pictures' with 'Chocolat' actress Juliette Binoche and in 'Blood Ties' with Marion Cotillard and Mila Kunis.

He will next appear in TV mini-series 'The Knick'.

Whilst filmmaker Miller - whose directorial debut came with 'Angela' in 1995 - recently worked with Moore 'The Private Lives of Pippa Lee'.
