Famed author Clive Cussler is suing the brains behind the movie adaptation of his book Sahara after they changed the script without consulting him.

Cussler was furious when he heard writers at CRUSADER ENTERTAINMENT had altered his story without his consent and now he has filed suit in Los Angeles in a bid to prevent film bosses releasing the movie.

According to the suit, the writer and Crusader bosses agreed an option to adapt a series of Cussler's novels, but the author would retain unqualified rights of approval over the screenplays.

The film, which is due for release later this year (04), stars PENELOPE CRUZ and Matthew Mcconaughey.
