Veteran singer Sir Cliff Richard is celebrating after winning five awards for his wine at an industry event.
The British crooner owns a vineyard in Portugal's Algarve region called Adega do Cantor, which translates as Winery of the Singer, and he produces a number of different drinks under his Vida Nova brand.
Richard scooped five prizes at the Challenge For The Best Wines Of The Algarve awards last week (25Aug11), including the Best Red Wine from the region for his 2009 Onda Nova Alicante Bouschet.
A message on the singer's website reads, "Sir Cliff is very much involved in producing the wine. When in Portugal he is often seen getting his hands dirty in the vineyard or indeed his feet dirty in the winery."
