Veteran rocker SIR Cliff Richard loaned British Prime Minister Tony Blair his holiday home in Barbados so the premier could vacation with his family.

British newspapers discovered Blair, his wife Cherie and children, EUAN, NICKY, Katherine and Leo have been enjoying a summer break on the Caribbean island after he was photographed at a public function there. The media have since been clamouring to unearth the Blairs' secret benefactor, today revealed to be the YOUNG ONES hitmaker.

According to London newspaper the Evening Standard, Richard loaned the PM his $5.4 million (GBP3 million) pad on the island after Blair agreed to attend a ball in aid of a charity that buys holidays for sick children.

It is the fourth time the Blair's have enjoyed Richard's hospitality. Cherie stayed at the singer's French home after giving birth to Leo in 2000. The family enjoyed summer breaks in the star's Barbados home for the last three years.

The family love the island so much, they spent much of their 24 day stay property hunting, with a view to buying a Barbados home of their own.
