The German supermodel is currently at Paris Fashion Week where she showed her second eponymous collection of cashmere yesterday (03.10.11) and Claudia admitted the legendary actress was an influence when she worked on her spring/summer 2012 collection.
She told vogue.co.uk: "She really represents that chic but casual persona I'm going for. She'd pull on a boyfriend's cashmere sweater and dance around with bare feet, or take one of these little cotton Sixties dresses and make it glamorous with a gold chain - and then it's just right for Ibiza."
Although Claudia admitted it was challenging to create a spring/summer collection from cashmere, she loves working with the fabric because she can't stop buying it.
She explained: "You know how some people just keep buying more shoes, even when they don't need any more shoes. Well I was always like that, but for me it was always cashmere. I was always buying more of it, so I wanted to make it myself.
"I want to give people easy things to wear. Nobody has time to keep trying on a load of things in the morning like a teenager. I have a really basic uniform: in winter, black tights and any old dress that I can throw on. In summer, high-waisted jeans and this shirt, or that shirt, and a cashmere cardigan just in case. That's what I want this to be about."
While Claudia showed her designs at an art gallery, Giambattista Valli and Emauel Ungaro also presented their latest collections in catwalk shows yesterday while YVES SAINT LAURENT's show included skirts in purple, teal and Baby Blue and palazzo pants in ornate prints,
