British singer Claire Richards is backing a campaign to protect children from online porn.

The Steps star is urging Internet service providers in her native U.K. to follow the lead of broadband company TalkTalk and introduce software allowing parents to block inappropriate content from all web-enabled devices in the family home.

Speaking on the 10th anniversary of Britain's Safer Internet Day on Tuesday (05Feb13), she says, "Safer Internet Day is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of Internet safety, especially for children. I am a mum of two and anything that can be done to reduce my children's exposure to harmful content online is a great thing."
