Veteran British singer Cilla Black wants to "bow out" from life at the age of 75 - even though she's only eight years away from the milestone.
The beloved Alfie singer, 67, is well known for enjoying life and is regularly seen out on the town.
But Black is adamant she would be happy to die in her mid-70s, because she'd hate to "linger" like her bed-ridden mother did.
She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I don't want to live beyond the age of 75. That would be a good point to bow out. I don't want to go on forever.
"(My mum) had to be fed intravenously and I hated that as much as she did. Unfortunately - and I do mean that - her heart was strong. The result was that she lived much longer than she wanted to.
"I remember asking her doctor if she could do something to relieve my mother's suffering. I'm not talking about euthanasia. I just wanted the pain to stop for her. But the short answer was 'no'. Those final months left a lasting impression on me. I would not want to linger like she did."
