A new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has been released online this week. There is just a month to go before the Christopher Nolan directed blockbuster hits cinema screens and this latest teaser shows both the movie's dark side and its humorous touches. As with all good comic book adaptations, a wry sense of humor is a must, to offset the fantasy and Nolan has pitched the mix perfectly here, judging by the trailer.
During one moment, at the end of the trailer, Christian Bale, as Bruce Wayne, tells the valet "I must have lost my ticket," in an attempt to get his car back, only to be told "your wife said you'd take a cab." As Bale says "my wife?" the camera cuts to a shot of Catwoman - played by Anne Hathaway and not Batman's wife, at all - roaring down the road in the car, with a smug grin on her face. In another, Michael Caine, who plays the role of Batman's trusty butler, leans over to him and says "Don't worry, Master Wayne. It takes a little time to get back in the swing of things."
There may be a dark humor running through the movie but this is clearly going to be a far cry from a comedy film, as evidenced by the shots of the new super-villain, Bane. Played by Tom Hardy, the masked monstrosity can be seen at one point, tossing Batman's mask to the ground and generally looking very terrifying indeed.
