New mom Christina Aguilera is certainly looking to have a very busy 2015. The singer, who will be returning to her duties on ‘The Voice’ for the show’s eighth season, will also be taking a trip to ‘Nashville’ soon, to play a pop diva with country aspirations.

People magazine announced the singer had signed on for a guest stint on the ABC drama and revealed she will play a character named Jade St. John. The magazine described St John as “a pop superstar who’s been going pretty much nonstop since she broke out a decade ago.”

“She arrives to Nashville for a two-night stand at the Bridgestone, but her real dream is to record a country album – if only her label, who wants her to stay on brand as a pop star, would let her break out of her golden cage.”

The role comes four years after Aguilera hit the big screen in musical Burlesque, alongside Cher and Kristen Bell. The 34 year old is also said to be producing a new series for ABC’s Family channel, as well as getting to work on her next album.

On top of work, Aguilera also has six month old daughter Summer Rain to look after, who this week graced the cover of People magazine alongside her mother. Revealing the inspiration behind her daughter’s unusual name, Aguilera told the mag, “Summer is a time of spreading warmth and light, while rain washes away … replenishes and brings new life to allow growth and new beginnings.”

“I wanted her name to be filled with inspiration, love and joy. And that’s exactly what she brings to all who encounter her. Her beauty and sunshine exude from within,” ‘The Voice’ coach added.

The singer also revealed she’s in no rush to marry fiancee Matt Rutler, who she's been engaged to for over a year. "Our love is secure enough that we don't need a wedding to prove our love or commitment," Aguilera said. "We are enjoying our daughter, our family and our work for now."
