Christina Aguilera has spoken to Latina magazine about her relationship with her estranged father. The 31 year-old singer last saw her father in 1999 but told reporters that she would like to meet him again. Aguilera says that she was physically and emotionally abused by her father - something that he has dismissed in interviews. Christina speaks about her childhood, saying "Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. 'I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from."
The star of The Voice also talks about her marriage to and divorce from Jordan Bratman said of the experience: "Was I too young? Not at all. I did the exact right thing at the time. I definitely wasn't too young. I have always been older than my age." Christina married Jordan in 2005 and they have a son together, four year old Max. On the latest episode of The Voice, one of the people auditioning was a childhood friend's of Christina - they appeared together on The Mickey Mouse Club, the show that helped to launch Christina's musical career, as well as that of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
Christina Aguilera has reportedly signed a deal to appear in a third series of The Voice. According to the Daily Mail, Aguilera is commanding a sum of $10 million for the next series of the show.
