Christina Aguilera has not been fired from the latest series of The Voice despite recent rumours.
According to realitytvmagazine.com a source close to the singer said, "She doesn't spend time with her contestants like she's supposed to. She doesn't participate. She spends most of her time on set with her boyfriend." However, NBC quickly issued a statement to deny the reports, with executive vice-president Paul Telegdy saying "There is absolutely no truth to the rumour." The Voice first aired on Nbc in April this year (2011) and became an immediate success and is now due to start its second season. Aguilera will appear on the show alongside fellow celebrity judges Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton.
The 30-year-old singer was born in New York and began her singing career at an early age whilst performing in The Mickey Mouse Club alongside future stars Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling. She went onto release her self-titled debut album in 1999 and has so far released five further studio albums winning her four Grammy Awards and a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame in the process. As well as selling over 50 million records worldwide the singer has also developed an acting career and starred alongside Cher in 2010 movie Burlesque which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Song.
