Christian Slater is set to play a man on trial suspected of killing his wife and will join James Franco who plays a drug-addicted writer in the 'Adderall Diaries'.
The 44-year-old hunk will play a computer programmer, Hans Reiser,
who is suspected of killing his ex-wife while Franco, 36, has been cast as a troubled and drug-addicted writer who becomes fascinated by his murder trial.
The film follows Franco's alter-ego, as he begins to pen a book on the dramatic, jaw-dropping case, Deadline.com reports.
Pamela Romanowsky, who will helm the project, also wrote the script based on a ''true-crime memoir'' book of the same name by Stephen Elliott, and Vince Jolivette is set to produce.
Meanwhile, Slater - who made his film debut with a small role in 1981's 'The Postman Always Rings Twice' - last hit the big screen in 'Nymphomaniac'.
Whilst Franco's credits include 'This Is the End', 'Lovelace' and is also set to star in next year's 'Queen of the Desert' which is in post-production.
