Got 100K spare? Got the space? Got a large and vicious animal that needs caging? You're in the right place...
Someone has listed the authentic velociraptor cage from the Jurassic Park movie on eBay, complete with rust and "full size velociraptor prop"! eBay sellers 'Theme Park Connection' have the rare item up for sale, with collection from Los Angeles offered as the only delivery option.
Celebrate The New 'Jurassic World' Movie By Treating Yourself To Your Very Own Velociraptor Crate.
At the time of writing, with seven days to go until the end of the auction, the bidding total stands at $99,900.10 (£60.3K) and the wood and metal crate is sold with "significant signs of wear," making "an amazing restoration project" according to the dealer.
The huge, grey, metal box, which measures "Height, 94 inches. Width 70 inches. Length 151 inches," and weighs "several hundred to one thousand pounds" is purported to be the very same one from the terrifying raptor attack scene in which the gate-keeper is killed whilst trying to move the dinosaur to a more permanent pen. To sweeten the deal further, the auction comes with a 'money back guarantee' just in case the winning bidder gets carried away in their memorabilia-collecting excitement and forgets they live in a bedsit flat.
"'Jurassic Park's opening sequence is without a doubt one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, and anyone who has seen Jurassic Park (and who hasn't?!) will instantly remember this incredible piece," writes the seller. The cage's full-size dinosaur is apparently one of the ones used to decorate the red carpet at the 1993 film's premiere whilst the crate featured prominently in the sci-fi horror.
'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Star Chris Pratt Will Star In 'Jurassic World.'
It is not known why, 21 years after the movie came out, the cage is set to change hands again but it could have something to do with the renewed interest in the franchise brought by the upcoming Jurassic World film, which will be released in 2015. Starring Chris Pratt, the new dinosaur adventure is described by director Colin Trevorrow as "a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park." With a release date set for June next year, it seems that the fourth movie in the Jurassic franchise has managed to tame its decade-long "development hell."
Jurassic World will be released on the 12th June 2015. The "JURASSIC PARK Velociraptor Cage Crate 1993 Original Screen Used Movie Prop" listing will end on the 5th February. Think of it this way: if you buy the crate you can re-enact the first movie to control your excitement before film four's release.
