Chris Pratt's movie career appears to be going from strength-to-strength thanks to landing the lead role in Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Discussions are in the very early stages, but the sneaky guys at The Wrap claim Universal are about to offer Pratt a deal to star in Jurassic World - the next movie in the Jurassic Park franchise.

While Guardians of the Galaxy will be wrapped, Pratt would have to navigate the shooting schedule for Jurassic World with his TV series Parks and Recreation, provided it gets renewed by NBC, which is likely.

As we reported last month, Josh Brolin had initially been circling the lead role for Jurassic World though talks failed to materialize.

Should he land the role, Pratt would join Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins in the 3-D sequel, directed by Safety Not Guarenteed's Colin Trevorrow from a script by Derek Connolly.

Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg is producing the project which Universal hopes to release on June 12, 2015.

Plot details have remained largely under wraps, but website JoBlo leaked some reported ideas earlier this year.
