However, fans have gone over to the dark side and started blaming Pratt’s former co-star, Jennifer Lawrence for the upsetting news.

American actors Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have announced they are to separate after sharing eight years of marriage together. They also mentioned the son they share, Jack, in the statement.

The social media announcement posted to Pratt's Facebook page read: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

The stars and director of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 talk about the long awaited sequel to the 2014 movie. The much loved ragtag crew consisting of Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Drax have just defeated Ronan and stopped the evil villain from using a powerful orb to destroy Xandar, the capital of the Nova Empire. With their criminal records cleared the crew fly off in Quill's spaceship the Milano after he learns that he's only part human and his father is mystery he's still yet to uncover. Equipped with a new mix tape from his mother, the gang are ready to set off on a new adventure.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 begins with the Guardians being asked by Ayesha, the leader of the Sovereign race, to retrieve a set of incredibly powerful batteries from the grasps of a monster. In return for their work, the crew will be given Gamora's sister, Nebula, who was captured by the Sovereigns when she tried to steal the batteries for herself. Though their mission is successful, the ever naughty Rocket decided to keep a couple of the batteries for himself landing the gang in serious trouble and being chased by Ayesha's army. Luckily for the crew of the Milano, they are saved by Quill's father, Ego, who reveals to Peter that he must've inherited some of his father's immense powers.
Whilst Ego and Peter bond, Rocket and Baby Groot find themselves getting captured and form an unlikely alliance with a familiar face. However, loyalties might not be as clear cut as the crew might've thought and there is imminent danger afoot from all corners of the Galaxy.

The superhero actor can't convince his son to get on board with his space-traveling character.
Directed and written by James Gunn, the brand new Marvel Cinematic Universe release 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' has hit cinemas in the UK and received rave reviews from critics who have already been lucky enough to see the flick.
Chris Pratt returns as Star-Lord in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'
Though it's hugely popular with moviegoers and comic book fans, there's one particular young man who we would have thought would love the movies - and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' - more than the rest. That'd be Chris Pratt's son, Jack.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 is out this week
Following up a massive hit like 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy is a daunting task. And while writer-director James Gunn had the main responsibility to make the sequel bigger and better, the returning cast members were aware of the stakes.
Chris Pratt in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
Leading man Chris Pratt says that there was a big difference between making the first movie and this one. "Yeah, it's a different type of pressure that we're under now," he says. "Before, the pressure was that no one knows you, so what's it going to be like to be the first Marvel movie that fails? I can't tell you how many times I answered that question. It was like, 'Oh God, this is not looking good.' So now that pressure is off, because it's like, hey, we've got a built-in audience! People really liked it. But I think the pressure we're feeling now is how do we do the same thing in terms of wowing an audience, getting people to come in and have their expectations defied. The pressure was on now to do the same thing, which is surprise you and do something different."

It was never going to be easy to match the impact of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, which jolted the Marvel franchise to life with its fresh comedy and freewheeling adventure. This sequel is still a lot of fun, but it's also far more controlled, a conventional, plot-based step of the Marvel universe. And all of the characters are angry about everything and everyone. Thankfully, there's also an emotionality that sneaks into the final act.
Now working as a team, the bickering Guardians just manage to complete their latest mission when Rocket (Bradley Cooper) makes an enemy of a tenacious high priestess (Elizabeth Debicki). Her fleet chases them into an encounter with Ego (Kurt Russell), a god-like being who claims to be the father of Guardian leader Peter (Chris Pratt). So Peter takes Gamora and Drax (Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista) to check out Ego's planet, while Rocket and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) fend off both the priestess and Peter's old mentor Yondu (Michael Rooker), who arrives with a large posse. And then there's Gamora's perpetually furious sister Nebula (Karen Gillan), who's on the rampage, determined to get revenge against everyone who has slighted her.
There's an underlying rage that drives everyone's actions, and the constant screaming matches become exhausting as the film progresses. The worst offender is Rocket, who expresses his perpetual aggravation in a stream of tetchy tirades. Thankfully, the dialogue is sharply written, with wicked insults to keep the audience smirking along. And there's also a nice sense that all of this fury is masking a deeper affection these misfits have for each other, which boils over in some remarkably strong dramatic scenes. Pratt and Russell are both terrific, seizing every chance to play with the comedic and dramatic notes. There are nice moments for Rooker, Saldana and Gillan, plus some witty cameos. And while Baby Groot is almost painfully adorable, it's Bautista's hilariously open-hearted Drax who steals the show.

For now at least...
While 'Guardians of the Galaxy' fans are eagerly anticipating some kind of romantic moment to happen between Peter Quill and Gamora, Zoe Saldana has different ideas about their relationship. According to her, love is the last thing on the cards for her feisty character.
Zoe Saldana at 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' screening
Saving the world brought the Guardians together as friends, as we are about to see in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2', but it was clear that Chris Pratt's character Peter Quill felt something different for one of his newfound teammates. However, love isn't something that Gamora is all too familiar with; she's already having enough trouble trying to find love for herself after her past wrongdoings.

Can you guess who our favourite 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' character is?
With 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' well on the way, we order the Guardians of the original movie from best to nearly best before their newest members join the ranks. Of course, Groot has been replaced by Baby Groot, and Yondu Udonta and Nebula are apparently about to join this force for good - though they haven't given us much reason to like them yet. Also, Mantis is another forthcoming addition, who we expect will steal our hearts very soon.
'Guardians of the Galaxy' has some of Marvel's best characters
1. Groot - He's a tree of little words, but he also sacrificed himself to save his friends, most of which he had only known a short time. Also, he becomes Baby Groot after that sacrifice - and he is the character that we're all excited to meet in the forthcoming 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'. Voiced by Vin Diesel, he is the most innocent and the most loving of all the Guardians.

Pratt, now one of the most lucrative names in Hollywood, spoke about how he almost missed out on his breakout role in 'Moneyball' six years ago because of his weight.
Blockbuster star Chris Pratt has revealed details about the casting decision that ended up changing his life in a new interview.
The 37 year old actor, the star of Jurassic World, Guardians of the Galaxy and Passengers, told the February issue of Vanity Fair that he was almost turned down for his breakout movie role in Moneyball as because he was “too fat”.
Pratt had previously made his name as the overweight musician Andy Dwyer in acclaimed comedy series ‘Parks and Recreation’, but he auditioned for the part of Oakland A’s first baseman and catcher Scott Hatteberg in 2011’s Moneyball, which went on to receive multiple Oscar nominations.
Pratt talked to The Jess Cagle Interview this week about what it was like filming 'Passengers' sex scenes with Jennifer Lawrence.
Chris Pratt has spoken a little about what it was like filming sex scenes with his Passengers co-star Jennifer Lawrence in a new interview, revealing that he felt that “the responsibility falls on me” to make things as comfortable as possible.
The 37 year old star, who was recently named as the second most valuable box office presence in Forbes’ Best Actor for the Buck list, had to strip down with his co-star for a nude scene in the upcoming sci-fi drama. It’s something that virtually all actors have to do, and it’s rarely without its embarrassments and nerves.

It's not all slanging matches and bad Instagram posts.
Apropos their stand-off on BBC Radio 1 which saw them trade a number of insults, the reality of the situation is that 'Passengers' stars Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are best friends. Despite their public pranks, they have some really nice things to say about each other.
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are the best friends of the year
The chemistry between these two talented stars has been obvious since promotion of the sci-fi thriller began, she we can only imagine how this will translate to the cinema screen with their forthcoming movie. It's a sign of an amazing friendship that they can happily make fun of each other - Chris with his Instagram prank of cropping Jennifer out of selfies, Jennifer with her revenge attack on a 'Passengers' bus banned on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the pair of them on Radio 1's 'Playground Insults' - but it's an even better sign when they can be so genuine with their appraisals of each other.
Their comedic chemistry is some of the best we've seen for a while.
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt have had this amazing rivalry going on since promotion for their new film 'Passengers' started, which culminated in the pair of them trading creative insults at each other in a contest on BBC Radio 1. Needless to say, some of their insights were hugely entertaining.
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are 2016's best double act
Radio presenters Scott Mills and Chris Stark had Jen and Chris face other in a segment called Playground Insults, where they had to think of mean things to say that were so ridiculous they made each other laugh - the game ending when one of them 'loses it' or comes back with a 'killer insult'.
The actor famously lost 60 pounds for his role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
Chris Pratt has said that he and wife Anna Faris miss the days before he slimmed down to become an action star in movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park. Appearing on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', the actor said that “fat Pratt” might even make a comeback one day.
Chris Pratt and wife Anna Faris prefer when he was ‘fat Pratt’
Colbert asked him: “I know you’re a big action star now and you’ve talked about getting in shape, but I kind of miss ‘Fat Pratt’. Do you miss him at all?” “Yes, I do,” Pratt responded. But it’s not just the actor who misses his old body, his wife Anna Faris feels the same.

Lawrence shot the scenes as part of her upcoming project 'Passengers', which is released in December 2016.
Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she had to get “really, really drunk” in order to marshal her nerves ahead of filming a sex scene with fellow Hollywood A-lister Chris Pratt, because he’s a married man. She explained that the scene, for their upcoming movie Passengers, is the “most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”
“I got really, really drunk,” she revealed in a new feature with The Hollywood Reporter, but that didn’t end up solving the problem. “That led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don't know’.”

‘Jurassic World’ director Colin Trevorrow discusses the future of the franchise.
Colin Trevorrow, the director and co-writer of the summer blockbuster Jurassic World, shared the inspiration for the film’s sequel in a recent podcast. 39-year-old Trevorrow is currently co-writing (along with Derek Connolly) and producing the sequel to Jurassic World. A quotation by Jeff Goldblum’s character, Ian Malcolm, from the 1993 film Jurassic Park is where Trevorrow’s inspiration came from.

The couple has been taken completely by surprise by the rumours that Pratt has eyes for his 'Passengers' co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
Faris, who has been married to the Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy actor since July 2009, told Fox411 that the rumour “stung a little bit harder than I thought it would, I have always kind of believed that part of the rumours of celebrity couples were sort of true – because they had never been a part of my life. I thought, 'Maybe there is a kernel of truth to that.'”

With fans already getting excited about the 2018-dated 'Jurassic World' sequel, we remember five movie follow-ups that should never have been made.
Not all sequels are terrible - Toy Story, The Bourne Identity and Batman Begins all received excellent second (and third) instalments, for example - but sometimes a disastrous sequel comes along that nobody was asking for. Here are five of the worst.
1. Teen Wolf Too (1987)
This comedy didn't leave audiences howling
Nearly two months after its release, 'Jurassic World' is proving enduringly popular at the box offices, overtaking 'The Avengers' to become one of the 3 most commercially successful movies ever.
The box office performance of Jurassic World continues to go from strength to strength, with the news that the dinosaur blockbuster has overtaken The Avengers to become the third highest-earning movie of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Featuring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and directed by Colin Trevorrow, it has now taken $1.522 billion at worldwide theaters in the six weeks since its release on June 12th. This nudges it very slightly ahead of the Marvel smash, which took $1.52 billion overall in 2012.
