Actor Chris Noth has reached out to embattled U.S. politician Anthony Weiner in the aftermath of his sex scandal, urging him to get back to work and put his indiscretions behind him.
Noth, who plays an adulterous politician in hit TV show The Good Wife, admits he feels sorry for the married congressman, who has admitted lying about sending a saucy picture to a female student through Twitter.com. He has also confessed to having intimate internet and phone chats with at least six other women.
The Sex and the City star has now handed out some advice to Weiner, telling New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Poor guy. You know, it was kind of stupid to have a name like Weiner and then be doing that when you're a politician...
"Imagine if sex didn't matter in politics, what would it be like? A lot of horny politicians, but they'd still be in office, so who cares?... It will all be forgotten in a month... Don't be a weinie. Get back to work politically."
Noth jokingly adds, "He needs to talk to Charlie Sheen to figure it all out!"
