Actor Chris Hemsworth is "disappointed" Kenneth Branagh has decided not to direct the follow-up to hit 3D spectacular Thor, because he learned so much about acting from the Brit during the first film.
Branagh swapped the stage for superheroes by taking the helm of the blockbuster, which topped the U.S. box office earlier this year (11).
He has decided against returning to lead the 2013 sequel, and Hemsworth - who played the title character - is upset he won't have the revered actor by his side during the second installment.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "I'm really disappointed. Ken built that character, and everything I know about the Thor world I learned while shoulder-to-shoulder with Ken. I learned so much from him.
"As long as he's happy, that's the thing. I learned so much from Ken while we built (the first film), so at least I had that time with someone like that. The start of anything creative is the most important period in a way. That's when the most can go wrong, and Ken made sure we got it right."
