Captain America actor Chris Evans has hinted he'd be open to returning for more Marvel movies in the future despite his contract coming up.
For over half a decade now, US actor Chris Evans has graced the big screen and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as comic book superhero Captain America; first in his own solo movie and then in a series of collaborative flicks that followed such as 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' and 'Captain America: Civil War'.
Chris Evans as Captain America
Gearing up to film the final two movies included in his current contract with the studio behind the franchise ('Avengers: Infinity War' and the currently untitled 'Avengers 4'), Evans has recently seemed to express an interest in officially bringing his time as Steve Rogers to an end.
Now though it seems like Evans is doing a U-turn, reflecting on his time in the Captain America costume and pondering whether he would be OK with turning his back on the series.
Could we see even more Chris Evans as Captain America?
With Marvel likely already confident in their choice of Evans as Rogers because of the great feedback they've had so far, negotiations in regards to a brand new contract could see him keep the role for the foreseeable future.
As reported by Inquisitr, Evans said of the future: "The only reason it [his time as Captain America] would end is 'cause my contract is up. After 'Avengers 4', my contract is done. Talk to Marvel. If we engage further, I'd be open to it. I love the character. It's almost like high school. You certainly always look to senior year, and then, all of a sudden, senior year happens and you're like, 'I don't know if I'm ready to go.' It's tough thinking about not playing the guy."
Chris Evans now seems open to doing more Marvel movies
While the comments will come as a welcome to relief to Evans' biggest fans, big portions of the viewing audience think it's now time for him to pass the torch to somebody else, with characters Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) some of their favourite choices.
Both have taken on the mantle of Captain America in the Marvel comic books, so there will definitely be some big discussions taking place behind-the-scenes.
