Captain America star Chris Evans turned to Iron Man Robert Downey, JR. for help before starting work on his portrayal of the comic book superhero - because he wanted to know what it was like to play an iconic cartoon character.
Evans has stepped cautiously into the role of Steve Rogers for the first in a series of Marvel films and he made sure he was well aware of what to expect by calling on advice from Downey, Jr.
He says, "Downey has been fantastic. I cannot say enough about Robert Downey, Jr. I love that guy. I love him. He’s so great and he’s so willing to talk about this stuff.
"This is all new for me. I’ve made movies but nothing like this. It’s great to be able to talk to someone who’s been in a spot like this for good and bad reasons. He has so much presence and charisma and confidence. He seems so centred and peaceful. He seems like life. He seems happy... I love being able to talk to him about this stuff."
