CAPTAIN AMERICA star Chris Evans has received attention recently for being an emerging Hollywood hunk, but you wouldn't be able to tell that from his bashful demeanour. He was recently grilled by MTV.com about his 'dreamboat' status, but he was unwilling to bite, saying: ".Am I at that status? I don't know."They do a lot of stuff in photoshop world, you can pretty much make anybody look that way. It's true," he continued. "I'm not even trying to fish, I'm being honest."
Evans has been credited by many critics for his stand-out performance in CAPTAIN AMERICA, with Kenneth Turan in the LA Times commenting on Chris Evans' performance as the title character as 'stirring', which makes the movie ".anything but just another superhero film." Evans also revealed today (23rd July) to the Scottish Daily Record that he was anything but a hunk when growing up, and that he transformed himself from a scrawy kid into a muscle-bound man through a strict sports gym routine: "It's hilarious actually, my family and friends all saw the trailer and they were like, that's you, man. When I was young, I was very skinny. I was very scrawny, but I played a lot of sports." Captain America: The First Avenger opens in cinemas worldwide on 29th July, and in North America this weekend (22nd July).
