Lea Michele is not pregnant! The 'Glee' actress confirmed her Twitter account was hacked just days after her co-star Chris Colfer suffered from the same prank.
Lea Michele shocked the world by announcing she was pregnant via Twitter on Friday (4th July). Mere days after stepping out in public for the first time with her boyfriend Matthew Paetz, it appeared the couple were wasting no time in announcing Michele's pregnancy. But, as it transpired, it was all a hoax as Michele's Twitter account had been hacked by an unknown culprit.
Lea Michele confirmed her account had been hacked.
As previously reported, the hacker pretending to be Michele wrote: "Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy." Soon after the Tweet was posted, Michele deleted it and announced she had been hacked and was certainly not pregnant. In a tweet posted the same day, Michele wrote "I was HACKED! Has someone gone on a Glee-themed Twitter hacking spree? Lea Michele has become the second Glee cast member to have her account hijacked, after Chris Colfer’s Twitter shocked fans with a fake announcement of his departure from the show. The message posted to Lea Michele’s account was more personal than Colfer’s, reading: “Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy,” read a message posted on her Twitter account.
Lea Michele - (probably) not pregnant.
Before the hoax got out to too many people, however, Michele’s quick response team (aka her publicist) came out with the clarification that the star’s Twitter had been hacked. However, some news sources like TIME have pointed out that the statement avoided the pregnancy question.

The 'Glee' actress is not pregnant, despite what tweets sent from her account may have claimed.
Lea Michele is not pregnant, despite what a Twitter "announcement" this morning seemed to suggest. The singer and actress was the victim of a prank tweet after her account was hacked and an anonymous user pretended to be Michele announcing her pregnancy.
The actress' reps have confirmed that the tweet was a hoax written by a hacker. In a now-deleted message, the hacker wrote in a post that went live at 11:20am: "Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy."
Though the message was blatantly a little off, plenty of Lea's fans were fooled into thinking it was the Glee star herself making an announcement. The hacking coincides with a similar strike on Michele's co-star Chris Colfer's account where someone wrote that he was leaving the hit musical show.
