Chris Brown has become the latest 'swatting' victim.

The R&B singer joined the long list of celebrities to have had a cruel phone prank played on them as police swarmed his Los Angeles mansion at 5pm on Monday (01.21.13) after a caller claimed there was a domestic violence incident in his home.

The anonymous joker said there was a bust-up taking place between a mother and father which involved a gun, but the call was discovered to be a hoax upon arrival.

Chris - who was famously arrested in 2009 for violently beating his girlfriend Rihanna - was not at his $1.6 million home at the time of the incident, but his parents showed up shortly afterwards.

The Los Angeles Police Department have vowed to catch the caller after a string of similar 'swatting' incidents involving stars like Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher and Miley Cyrus.

Kim Kardashian fell victim to the craze just last week (18.01.13) when heavily armed officers turned up on her family's doorstep in Calabasas, California after a 911 caller claimed someone was running riot with a gun in the house.

Kim furiously tweeted: ''Just got a call from my mom telling me about this prank call that someone was shot in their home and 15 swat team & 3 helicopters showed up! (sic)

''These prank calls are NOT funny. People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out how is behind this. It's dangerous & not a joke! (sic)''
