Chris Brown made headlines on the eve of the Grammy Awards again after he was involved in a car crash in Los Angeles on Saturday (09Feb13).
The R&B star was on his way to the Debbie Allen Dance Academy for a Symphonic Love Foundation event when two vehicles reportedly cut him off. As the passengers of the cars jumped out with cameras, Brown reversed down a nearby alley and crashed into another two vehicles, according to U.S. news show Extra.
The singer's car was totaled in the smash, but Brown escaped unhurt and was able to attend the charity event, as well as a pre-Grammy Awards party later in the day.
His representative explained the incident in a statement, which reads, "The occupants (of the other cars) jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles."
Back in 2009, on the eve of the Grammys, Brown was in the news for all the wrong reasons after assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna during a fight on the way home from a party.
As a result of the altercation, which left Rihanna black and blue and led to a conviction for Brown, both stars pulled out of appearances at the Grammys.
