Criminal charges against singer Chris Brown have been dropped, after his alleged victim decided he no longer wanted to move forward with the case. The 25 year old had been accused of punching a man during a game of basketball in Las Vegas on Monday following a verbal altercation.

The altercation was said to have happened during a game on a private court at Brown’s suite at the Palms Casino Resort hotel. According to reports an argument broke out during the game which led to a physical fight where the victim was punched by another male whom he identified as Brown.

After word of the charges got out Brown’s publicist Nicole Perna released a statement saying, "Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drai's on May 5th and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well.”

"He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”

On Tuesday TMZ reported that the charges against Brown had been dropped with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department later issuing a statement saying the victim had told detectives he no longer wants to go forward with criminal charges. ”This case will not be pursued any further," the police department added.
