Chris Brown (born Christopher Maurice Brown 05.05.1989) is an American rapper known for his Grammy Award-winning 2011 album 'F.A.M.E.' and his public trial for domestic abuse.
Net worth: According to Celebrity Net Worth in 2014, Chris Brown has a net worth of 30 million USD.
Childhood: Chris Brown was born in Tappahannock, Virginia, to Joyce Hawkins and Clinton Brown. Brown's parents were fans of Sam Cooke and Michael Jackson, leading to inspiration for their son. Brown began dancing when he was two years old, and at a young age he aspired for a career as a rapper. Brown began singing at the age of eleven, and was discovered by a talent agent when he was thirteen. Chris Brown moved to New York for his career, living there for two years.
Career: Chris Brown left school in 2004 at a young age, and began working in his debut album. On 29th November 2005, Chris Brown released his self-titled debut album, which opened at the number two spot on Billboard's 200 list. The album led to Brown winning Best New Artist and Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Grammy Awards. Brown released his second studio album, 'Exclusive', on 6th November 2007. The album didn't achieve the same success as its predecessor, and received similarly mixed reviews. In December of that year, Brown embarked on The Exclusive Holiday Tour until February, where it ended in Hawaii. For his third studio album, Brown tried to emulate the style of singer like Prince and Michael Jackson who had inspired him in his youth. The result was 'Graffiti', released on 7th December 2009. While the album debuted at the seventh spot on Billboard's 200 list, it was critically panned with some critics calling it "bland" and some "insufferable". After the critical backlash to 'Graffiti', Brown set to work on 'F.A.M.E.' - his fourth studio album. It was released on 18th March 2011, debuting at the top of Billboard's 200, marking Brown's first number one album. Critical response was more praising, yet the album still only received moderate scores from critics. Just over a year later, Brown released 'Fortune' on 29th June 2012, again debuting at the top of Billboard's 200 list. Like 'Graffiti', however, the album was universally panned as "shameless" and "uncomfortable". Brown took two years to record 'X', his sixth studio album, which was released on 16th September 2014. The album reached number two on Billboard's 200 list, becoming the first album since 'Graffiti' to not reach the top spot. The album did, however, receive far more favourable reviews, with generally more positive critical response.
Personal Life: Chris Brown met Rihanna in 2005, and the couple began dating in 2008. On 8th February 2009, Chris Brown beat Rihanna after the couple got into an argument. After first denying the allegations, Brown later confessed to domestic abuse and making criminal threats, and was sentenced to a mere five years' probation, six months of community service, and a restraining order keeping him 50 yards from Rihanna. The verdict was met with backlash from Domestic Abuse activists, who stated that Brown should have been punished far more harshly for his crimes. The restraining order was later amended to allow Brown and Rihanna to attend awards ceremonies at the same time.
The feud that escalated into a boxing match apparently isn't allowed to take place in Las Vegas, according to reports.
Yes, that’s right, an actual fight that’s apparently going to be televised on pay-per-view, according to the latest reports. From Dubai.
TMZ reported on Wednesday (January 11th) that the potential boxing match, which we can only hope is for charity, was supposed to take place at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. However, rules and regulations governing the sport in America mean that it may now have to happen overseas.
Are these stars really going in the ring?
Rumours are circling that Soulja Boy and Chris Brown are planning to settle their recent online feud in the boxing ring, with a match allegedly set up in Dubai. Legally, this fight can't take place in the US so that's why they're going overseas.
Soulja Boy to fight Chris Brown in Dubai ring?
It seems these musicians' hatred for each other has not affected their ability to spot a financial opportunity where there is one. According to TMZ, the fight will be broadcast on a Pay-Per-View network, which means they both could earn a fortune from the event (which will end any future arguments about who's got the most money, probably). Sources say they originally wanted to take it to Las Vegas, but that is no longer possible by law.

Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, seemed to try to bury the hatchet with an apology video to his fans.
After his rumoured ‘beef’ with fellow rapper Chris Brown blew up over the internet earlier this week, Soulja Boy has seemingly moved to end the feud by posting an ‘apology’ video and revealing some sad personal news.
The two had exchanged words on social media on Monday (January 2nd), with Soulja Boy – real name DeAndre Cortez Way – claiming that Brown called him and said he wants to “fight” him, after he liked a picture of Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran on Instagram.
Brown even said that Soulja Boy “continually” called him up, and reached out to boxer Adrien Broner to set up a boxing match between the two of them. “He prolly wanna squash it cause he know I'm serious... Boy stop it. I'ma whoop your ass. Adrien Broner, set up the gym, bro. Set the gym up. Stop calling me n***a… we gon' fight for charity.”

Well, that escalated quickly...
Chris Brown and Soulja Boy have some kind of major beef going on and it all seems to centre on some Instagram photo of Brown's ex Karrueche Tran. The 'Crank That' rapper claimed that Brown threatened him over the phone after he liked one of the budding actress and model's picture.
Chris Brown has beef with Soulja Boy
However, Chris Brown seems to be denying that any of that happened and Karrueche herself has even weighed in on the situation and tried to diffuse it. It's difficult at the moment to tell who started the whole thing.

R&B star Chris Brown denied entry to Japan over arrest last month
R&B star Chris Brown has reportedly been denied access to Japan ahead of a series of dates in Tokyo next week. The singer is being denied entry over allegations from the LAPD he pulled a gun out at a woman.
Japan is very strict on letting people visit the country with criminal records (as Paris Hilton found out in 2010) and it now seems as though Chris Brown is the latest A-lister to be denied. Brown is used to being denied access to countries; he had to cancel his Australia and New Zealand tour in December because of his domestic violence issues in the past.

Looks like this beauty queen may be less innocent than she makes out.
Since it emerged that Chris Brown had been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a beauty queen named Baylee Curran accused him of pointing a gun at her during a party on earlier this week, various stories have surfaced suggesting that the woman may not be as squeaky clean as she is purporting to be.
Did Chris Brown's accuser lie about the whole thing?
Baylee says that she was thrown out of Chris Brown's party after innocently admiring a diamond crucifix that his friend had been displaying. According to her, the friend went crazy on her despite the fact that she didn't even touch the jewellery, which prompted Chris to react by pulling out his firearm and aiming it at her. It resulted in a short stand-off between Chris and his entourage and the police when he refused to leave his house before the arrival of his lawyer Mark Geragos. Chris' party deny any wrongdoing.
Tmz have been doing some digging, though, and it seems what Baylee originally told them may not be the full story. A text message written to her friend Safari after the incident in question has been obtained by the publication that appears to show Baylee plotting to frame Chris after she was thrown out for calling the jewellery 'fake'.
'Hey safari don't you know this freak Chris brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend jewelry fake can you come get me my Uber is messing up if not I'm going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson I'm going to set his ass up. Lol come get me', she wrote. She allegedly received the reply: 'Really that's f*** up you ain't going to do that your wrong if you do.'
She denies sending the message, and as of now Chris' lawyer is attempting to authenticate it. It's possible that it's fake; Safari told Tmz that the pair hadn't spoken since she 'stole his Rolex last year', so why would she then phone him for lift? However, how else would Safari know about her cab 'messing up'? Something that did happen because the cab driver left when she didn't emerge from under the car where she was hiding.
More: Chris Brown arrested after pointing a gun at party guest
Even if the text message is a fake, there are more reasons to doubt Baylee's story. Apparently, she has actually been stripped from her title of Miss California Regional 2016 after nude photos surfaced, followed by frequent absences at events she was supposed to attend. After just two months, the pageant director demanded the crown and sash back, but she has reportedly refused to return them.
Other reports say that she is a wanted women in New York City after stealing a $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse containing $200 and a Michael Kors wallet from a friend that she had argued with at The Plaza hotel in 2013. The alleged victim also apparently got a restraining order on Baylee, but Baylee says it was actually another friend who was the thief and she is not aware of a warrant for her arrest in NYC.
The most impartial witness report so far has come from both Chris and Baylee's friend Christian Bonilla. He told Tmz he went to the party with a friend of his and ended up driving some of the girls home, after which time Baylee called. 'Baylee called one of the girls that was with me to pick her up because something had happened', he said. 'She was just very angry about the whole situation. She was frustrated. She's not someone you wanna get angry.'
When Tmz Live responded in surprise that Baylee was more angry than scared, after she just had a gun pointed at her, he replied: 'People act very differently when they're in these situations.' Baylee had also apparently sent Bonilla a text saying, 'This motherf***** is about to go down'.
Even if any of this is true, the police can't arrest anyone without just cause. According to Tmz, cops found a dufflebag filled with drugs, a gun and other weapons that Chris had allegedly thrown out of the window. There's no word on whether or not the gun matches the description that Baylee gave, however.
The former rap mogul is filing his own lawsuit from behind bars.
Earlier this week we revealed that Chris Brown was facing a lawsuit from his former manager Mike G for alleged assault, and now it seems his legal troubles aren't stopping there as imprisoned producer Suge Knight sues him for negligence after he was shot during an attack on a nightclub Brown was performing at in 2014.
Suge Knight takes out a lawsuit after shooting in 2014
Suge Knight is currently serving time behind bars for the alleged murder of Heavyweight Records co-founder Terry Carter in a hit-and-run incident last year, so you'd think he'd had enough of legal matters by now. However, he has taken the opportunity - while he's got his attorneys handy - to take out a lawsuit of his own against Chris Brown, blaming him for getting shot seven times during a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party in Los Angeles.
‘Famous’ was premiered live on Tidal, Friday (June 24) during West’s show at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Kanye West’s new video for ‘Famous’ might just be his most controversial and thought-provoking work yet. Visuals from the video premiered on Friday night and fans watching live on Tidal couldn't believe their eyes, as uncanny likenesses of celebs including Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby and Caitlyn Jenner all appeared on screen completely naked.
Kanye West has unveiled his ‘Famous’ video.
Introducing the video West told the crowd: "I wanna thank Eli first of all who was in the project every day …I don't wanna give away how it all happened. I wanna thank all my family, my wife, and y'all supporting ideas and truth. I got one question though. Would you like me to play that back?”
He alleges that Mike was fired for theft.
Chris Brown is facing a lawsuit for allegedly assaulting his former manager Mike G during a drug-fuelled rampage just days before he began his European tour this year. Though while Mike G claims that the incident was an unprovoked attack, Brown has come forward to claim that he was actually fired for stealing from him.
Chris Brown sued for assault
Yesterday (June 23rd 2016), Mike G took out a lawsuit at the Los Angeles Superior Court to get Brown implicated for assault, false imprisonment, intention infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract, according to the report. He claims that he was 'brutally attacked' by the rapper on May 10th while the latter was under the influence of drugs and suffered injuries that required him to be hospitalized.
