Chicago Rocker Robert Lamm Has Apologised To Fans And Backtracked Over Comments Suggesting Original Singer Peter Cetera Will Rejoin The Bandmates To Perform When They Are Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Next Year (16).
The If You Leave Me Now stars' induction was announced as part of the Class of 2016 last week (ends18Dec15), and keyboardist Lamm recently claimed Cetera and drummer Danny Seraphine were on board to join in the ceremony.
"Oh yeah," Lamm said when asked about a possible reunion by Radio.com. "If there's ever a time that we can share the stage again, this is it, I think it could have a huge emotional impact on the audience. And I think that that would be a very moving experience."
However, Lamm has now spoken out to clarify his remarks after confessing he "misinterpreted" comments made by Cetera via email.
Chicago, Steve Miller, Chaka Khan, Cheap Trick, The Cars, The J.B.'s and Los Lobos are the other first-time nominees, among some familiar faces.

Disney Executives Have Recruited Chicago Director Rob Marshall To Take Charge Of A New Movie Musical Featuring Beloved Nanny Mary Poppins.
Like the original 1964 film starring Julie Andrews, the new instalment will be adapted from author P.L. Travers' children's book series, and will be set 20 years after the classic movie - in Depression-era London.
The new version will feature Mary's other adventures with the Banks family as told in Travers' novels, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Disney bosses and Marshall have been collaborating with the Travers estate for the movie, and have already earned the support from Mary Poppins co-composer Richard Sherman.

Top Conductor Paul Freeman Has Passed Away At The Age Of 79.
The musician, who founded the Chicago Sinfonietta orchestra, was fighting an array of ailments for several years and died in British Columbia, Canada on Tuesday (21Jul15).
Officials posted a message on the Chicago Sinfonietta website, stating, "It is with profound sadness that we announce our beloved Founder and Music Director, Maestro Paul Freeman passed away...
"Paul had been fighting a number of physical challenges over the last few years but according to his wife Cornelia and his son Douglas, both of whom were with him, he felt no pain and was at peace."

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter will play sexy murderess Roxie Hart at the Ambassador Theatre in New York from August to October.
The news comes two months after the star triumphed on TV competition show Dancing with the Stars in May (15) and one month after she had drop out of the reality TV show's tour because of a foot fracture.
Singer Brandy Norwood is currently portraying the character on Broadway, and Jennifer Nettles, Ashlee Simpson and Christie Brinkley have all previously played Roxie Hart onstage, while Renee Zellweger took on the role in director Rob Marshall's hit 2002 movie version.

Rapper Chief Keef Is Hosting A Benefit Concert For A Toddler Who Was Killed By The Same Gunman Who Allegedly Shot The Mc's Friend And Fellow Rapper Capo On Saturday (11jul15).
Capo, 22, real name Marvin Carr, was gunned down and killed in Chicago, Illinois, and less than 30 minutes later, the suspect allegedly drove on to a sidewalk a few miles away from the initial crime scene, and hit one-year-old Dillan Harris with his car, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Harris was later pronounced dead, and after hearing the news of both tragedies, Chief Keef, a Chicago native, has decided to use his music for good.
The newspaper reports that Keef will headline the free concert in the city on 17 July (15), with any donations received during the event going towards the toddler's family.

Kanye West Became The Recipient Of An Advanced College Degree On Monday (11may15) After Officials At The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago (Saic) In Illinois Awarded Him An Honorary Doctorate.
The Chicago native quit school to pursue a career in hip-hop and even named his debut album The College Dropout to acknowledge the fact, but he was back in Illinois to attend the school's commencement ceremony on Monday, when he was given the title Doctor of Fine Arts.
Wearing a traditional cap and gown, West gave a brief speech to his fellow graduates after he was handed the honorary diploma.
The rapper explained he hoped the doctorate would help legitimise him as a serious artist, explaining, "You don't have to defend me as much. And I'm going to make all of our lives easier.

Soul Singer Billy Butler Has Died, Aged 69.
Butler passed away at a nursing home in Chicago, Illinois on 31 March (15) following a battle with cancer.
He worked as a singer/songwriter and music producer throughout his career, but never reached same the level of fame as his elder brother Jerry Butler, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
The younger Butler brother released hits including I Can't Work No Longer with his band The Chanters in the 1960s and later formed the group Infinity, which released singles including I Don't Want To Lose You and Get on the Case.

Reinking, who also choreographed the musical, took centre stage as Roxie Hart when it first opened in May, 1996, alongside Neuwirth as Velma Kelly, Joel Grey as Amos Hart and James Naughton in the role of Billy Flynn.
