Singer CHERYL COLE is thrilled Simon Cowell wants her on the judging panel when he takes his hit TV talent show The X Factor to the U.S. - but she fears American viewers will struggle to understand her British accent.
The Girls Aloud star is currently a mentor on the U.K. version of the programme, and Cowell reportedly plans to keep her on his team for the Stateside launch next year (11).
Cole is delighted with the proposal - but fears her strong north-east England accent will leave viewers in the U.S. baffled.
She says, "It's kind of really scary. You know - like, why would they give a 'b' (care) what I thought? They don't know me out there and I have got this weird accent and it would be a bit, 'What?'!
"I love the thought of it and I would absolutely love to do it. The talent out there is phenomenal, so I would get an absolute buzz off doing it, but whether they would get a buzz off me is a different thing."
