Cheryl Cole has hit out over claims she had a secret romance with rapper MC Harvey.
The Girls Aloud singer took to twitter to deny suggestions made by the former So Solid Crew star that she dated him in late 2010 following her divorce from England and Chelsea soccer star Ashley Cole, joking Harvey must have been "smoking something" to believe it had happened.
Cheryl tweeted: "Was this "relationship" happening in your head @harveyofficial ?! Are you smoking something?
"@harveyofficial I think I've met you once maybe twice at public events and With your wife!! (sic)"
However, Harvey - who was previously married to 'Britain's Got Talent' judge Alesha Dixon before cheating on her with singer JAVINE HYLTON - hit back at Cheryl's rant, claiming he has email proof of their relationship and insisting he would "rather go broke" and work in a supermarket than talk about her personal life.
He wrote on his twitter page: "Do you actually want me to tweet some of the messages you emailed me @cherylcole pipe down and stop playing the saint in front of your fans.
"I had your back @cherylcole untill you sent that s**t dissapointed in you if the public seen these emails you would end up with egg on your face.
"And let's get this straight @cherylcole I don't need no hype of you! I'd rather go broke and work in sainsburys than talk about your personal s**t.
"This is not a twitter beef I still have massive respect for @cherylcole but you shouldn't of tweeted that knowing we both have personal messages to each other. (sic)"
Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts then waded into the argument, saying someone must have been impersonating 28-year-old Cheryl via email.
She tweeted: "Emails..?? I think someone's been having you on mate.
The row started after Harvey claimed he got close to Cheryl in late 2010.
He told Now magazine: "She's a good girl. There was a relationship. I wouldn't have minded Cheryl being my wife."
