Cheryl Cole is set to sign a £6 million US record deal.

The 'Promise This' singer flew to Los Angeles earlier this week after receiving a call from top executives at record label Universal on Sunday (31.12.10), saying they wanted to see her as they believe she could be huge In America.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Cheryl got a call from some very senior people at Universal saying they wanted to see her. They are the kind of people who when they say, 'Jump', you ask, 'How high?'

"So she jumped on a plane and went to Los Angeles for 36 hours."

During the meeting, bosses told Cheryl they will release her second album 'Messy Little Raindrops', and The Deal is set to also includes at least two more albums.

Although she is yet to officially sign the deal, it is set to be finalised within the next few weeks.

Music mogul Simon Cowell - who appears alongside Cheryl on the judging panel of UK TV show 'The X Factor' - helped put the contract in place, as did her good friend of The Black Eyed Peas, who is also signed to Universal.

Cheryl, 27, has enjoyed huge solo success since her band Girls Aloud have been on a hiatus, with her debut single and album both topping the UK charts.
