Aguilera Back On Top In The Us

Christina Aguilera has stormed back to the top of the US album charts for the first time since 1999.
The singer's new double album Back to Basics debuted at the top of the new chart with 342,000 copies sold in its first week.
That mirrors the album's success in several other territories, including Britain, where it crashed in at number one on Sunday (20AUG06).
Back To Basics leads five new releases which debut at the top of the Billboard chart - LYFE JENNINGS has stunned chart watchers by debuting THE PHOENIX at number two, while country crooner Trace Adkins' DANGEROUS MAN enters the new chart at number three.
Sister act Cherish enter the charts at four with UNDERAPPRECIATED and THE CHEETAH GIRLS II soundtrack debuts at five.
Also new to the top 10 is rapper Obie Trice's SECOND ROUND'S ON ME at number eight.

GEORGE and IRA GERSHWIN's 1926 love anthem SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME has topped a new list of top romantic tunes.

The early St Valentine's Day poll, created by US music historian SCOTT G for website also features standards like COLE PORTER'S NIGHT AND DAY and modern classics like SIR Elton John's YOUR SONG.

But Scott G insists the Gershwin classic was an easy choice for the top spot because it has been recorded beautifully so many times by the likes of Rosemary Clooney, Queen Latifah and Barbra Streisand.

Simmons Helps Reality Tv Pop Band

Liberty X Simon Cowell Jessica Taylor Michelle Heaton Kelli Young DMC Cherish

Hip-hop star JOSEPH 'REVEREND RUN' SIMMONS has offered to help British reality TV show runners-up Liberty X improve their image.

The RUN-DMC founder will work with the losers of Simon Cowell's first British talent show POPSTARS on a track titled A SONG FOR LOVERS.

And the group - Jessica Taylor, Michelle Heaton, Kelli Young, KEVIN SIMM and TONY LUNDON - are delighted.
