Pop superstar Cher will end her Farewell Tour in April (30APR05) at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl after 325 shows in three years.
The world trek, which has been dubbed the NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE tour, heads off to Australia and New Zealand next month (MAR05) before returning for the final shows in America, where Cher has performed in all but four of the 50 states.
The Farewell Tour has become the most successful US tour by a female artist, selling more than three million tickets and grossing over $200 million (GBP105.3 million).
Cher admits 30 April will be an incredibly emotional night, but she insists the end of the tour had to come.
She says, "I've had more fun and have had the best audiences these last three years than any shows I've ever done. That's why I kept asking my managers to add more and more shows. The people I've worked with are part of my family. I love all of them.
"I have so many happy memories from this tour. When I do my final show, I'll be thinking back to when I performed on the stage at the Bowl over 40 years ago with Sonny (Bono, former partner). That 325th show will complete the circle."
The singer is looking forward to giving up her tour bus and heading home after the final show.
She adds, "As far as ever going on the road again, this is it. My tour bus is retiring and going up on blocks. I'll hitch a ride home from the Hollywood Bowl. It'll be nice to sleep in my own bed for a change."01/02/2005 21:18
