Pop superstar Cher has paid tribute to her mother in a new Tv documentary.

The Believe hitmaker's mother, former actress/model Georgia Holt, is the subject of an upcoming show on U.S. network Lifetime, and the singer is among the family members who appears in the programme.

Cher tells Entertainment Weekly, "This project started as a gift for my mom's 86th birthday. Like most things in my family, it was initiated by my sister Georganne, who asked me if I could update mom's album...

"So I went big ... I'm known in the family for doing that. My sister and I are proud of our mom and we want to share her with the world. My mom is exactly like Rocky. She never gives up!"

Dear Mom, Love Cher, which will also feature a never-before-heard duet performance with Holt and her famous daughter, is set to air on 6 May (13).

News of the Tv documentary comes just days after Cher expressed deep concern for her elderly mother's health after she was struck down with a bout of pneumonia. The illness prompted the singer to jet back to the U.S. from Paris Fashion Week in France to look after the now-87 year old.
