Cher Lloyd, the 17-year-old star of the X-Factor who releases her debut single 'Swagger Jagger' on 31st July 2011, claims she hasn't spoken to Cheryl Cole since being eliminated from the hit reality singing contest. Lloyd, who was dubbed 'mini-Cheryl' on the show, says Cole is too busy to phone her.
During an interview with Rwd Magazine, the singer from Worcestershire, was asked whether she keeps in touch with mentor Cheryl, replying, "No I haven't spoken to her at all. I haven't spoken to her since the show. It's quite funny though innit. Do you really think she's going to want to phone me up?" Cole was recently fired from her role on Simon Cowell's forthcoming 'U.S. X Factor' and confirmed she would not be returning to the UK version of the show. Lloyd added, "She's busy. I'm busy, she ain't got time. Maybe I'll ring her". The young pop star premiered her first ever music video last week, with fans quick to point out Lloyd's often striking resemblance to Girls Aloud star Cheryl. The clip begins with the singer listening to 'Swagger Jagger' on her Mp3 player, before blasting out the track on a retro boom-box.
A video of Cher Lloyd's first audition on the Uk X-Factor became a YouTube hit and has since received over 16 million views.
