The often controversial Chelsea Handler has become the latest celebrity to take Instagram to task over their policy regarding female nudity. The comedian posted a topless photo on the site yesterday (October 30th) and quickly found that her image was in violation of the community guidelines and had been removed.

The image showed the 39 year old topless riding a horse, wearing only her jeans and a black helmet. The picture was posted beside one of Russian President Vladimir Putin shirtless and also riding horseback.

The photo was captioned, “Anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better. #kremlin,” showing that Handler probably knew a fight with the social media site was coming.

After the picture was removed, Handler shared a screen cap of the violation, writing, "If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it’s ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?”.

She then reposted the original image with the caption underneath, “If Instagram takes this down again, you’re saying Vladimir Putin has more 1st amendment rights than me.”

Handler then bid farewell to Instagram, posting a picture of her two dogs and writing, “You can now find my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only where my followers have the right to choose what they say. Bye bye instablock.”

The comedian’s insta-spat sees her join the ranks of celebs such as Scout Willis and Rihanna who have taken issue with the site’s policy regarding female nudity.
