Actress Charlize Theron missed out on both female leads in hit musical movie Chicago.

The actress was signed up to star as ROXIE HART in the project when Nicholas Hytner was onboard as director, but she lost the part to RENEE ZELLWEGER when Rob Marshall took over.

Theron then tried out for the VELMA KELLY role but that went to CATHERINE ZETA-JONES.

The unlucky movie star also pitched the idea for hit comedy SWEET HOME Alabama to Disney, but lost out on the lead to Reese Witherspoon.
