Actress Charlize Theron has called on the American people to do all they can to assist combat veterans when they return from serving in Iraq. Theron, whose new movie In The Valley Of Elah is based on the true story of a U.S. soldier who goes missing after fighting in Iraq, hopes American and its allies will be able to withdraw their troops from the Middle Eastern country soon. Speaking at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Sunday (02Sep07), she said, "Nothing would give me more joy than to see them (the soldiers) back in America. "They are doing a very, very important job and it's a dangerous one. Hopefully, they can come back and be looked after, that's the least we can do for them."
