OSCAR-winner Charlize Theron lacked the required attributes to land the lead role in an upcoming movie set in South Africa - despite the fact that she hails from the country and is fluent in Afrikaans.
Theron was rejected by director John Boorman for COUNTRY OF MY SKULL - set in a post-apartheid South Africa.
Instead, the harrowing part went to actress Juliette Binoche.
Boorman says, "The fact that Charlize is South African and Afrikaans really wasn't enough.
"Juliette has this extraordinary ability - she has a way of expressing pain and grief that is in no way self-indulgent."10/03/2005 13:53
