Charlize Theron is set to star in Ridley Scott's new movie 'Prometheus'.
CHARLIZE THERON, the 35-year-old South African actress, is in final negotiations to appear in RIDLEY SCOTT's highly anticipated new movie 'Prometheus', according to the Hollywood Reporter. The movie, tentatively scheduled for release on 8th June 2012, was originally intended as a prequel to Scott's classic film 'Alien', but it has since become its own original sci-fi flick. Theron will star alongside Noomi Rapace, star of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' and the British actor Michael Fassbender. In a recent interview with MTV News, 33-year-old Fassbender discussed the movie and confirmed that it still has connections to 1979's 'Alien', adding, "There's a definite connecting vein,. You realize you're part of something else, but it's definitely in keeping with the old ones. When I read it, I was like, 'Well, okay, another Alien. Where do you go with this idea?' And then I sort of read the script, and it's new, yet it's in keeping with the old traditions as well. But there's a whole new revelation within this film".
Before starting work on 'Prometheus', Theron will star in the Jason Reitman movie 'Young Adult', about a divorced writer from the mid-west.
