Charlie Sheen is well and truly back. After suffering a very public and fairly catastrophic breakdown, the actor finally seems to be getting his life and career back on track. His new sitcom Anger Management has been renewed by the FX channel, for further 90 episodes, according to TVLine.
Another bit of good news for the Anger Management crew is that Charlie's father Martin Sheen, will also be joining the cast as a series regular. He'll play the role of Charlie's character's father in the show, just like in real life. It seems as though the network have plenty of faith in the show. Even before it aired FX told Sheen and the series producers that they would qualify for a huge re-signing, as long as the initial 10 episodes reached certain viewer rating thresholds. Lucky for Charlie, the comedy quickly became the highest-rated new comedy on US cable, with an average of 4.53 million viewers per week. 2.5 million of those landed in the highly-coveted 18 - 49 demographic.
Production on the new set of episodes will begin on September 24, 2012. It's expected that the show will return in January 2013.
