In case you’re not interested in Fifty Shades of Grey news, look away now. Actually, you may want to disconnect from the internet for the next week or so. Between Beyonce’s recent Instagram teaser and the full-length trailer for the adaptation of E. L. James’  erotic novel coming this Thursday, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will be pretty much inescapable in the days ahead.

Charlie Hunnam still wants to see Fifty Shades of Grey.

In other Fifty Shades news, Charlie Hunnam, formerly cast to star in the steamy flick, has spoken out about his exit from the project one month after the announcement of his casting. According to the Associated Press, Hunnam spoke at a Fox event on Sunday as part of the TCA press tour – and he only had kind words for E. L. James, Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson and the story overall.

'Sons Of Anarchy' Season Six Finale: Marijuana, Fork Stabbing And Death

The Sons of Anarchy season six finale was some showstopper. Completely at odds with the subtle beauty of Breaking Bad's wrap-up episode, the FX drama went the whole hog and we had a drowning, a stabbing and two rather bloody deaths. SPOILERS AHEAD. Obviously.

The Sons of Anarchy season six finale saw Tara (Maggie Siff) lying stone cold dead in her kitchen as a crying Jax (Charlie Humman) cradled her in his arms. Her killer was none other than Gemma (Katey Sagal) who, under the influence of marijuana, drowned her in the sink, stabbed her repeatedly and left her to bleed. Lovely.

Universal Announces Postponed Release Date For "Fifty Shades" Film

E.L. James Dakota Johnson Jamie Dornan Charlie Hunnam

In a new twist, the constant bumps in the road for the Fifty Shades of Grey project may have resulted in the release date being postponed for 2015. Reuters reports that Universal Pictures made the announcement on Wednesday. The original release date – August 1, 2014, has been pushed back for February 13 the following year – just in time for Valentine’s day.

Universal made no comment on the reason for the postponed release date, but it may be related to Charlie Hunnam, who was cast to portray protagonist Christian Grey, pulling out of the project on October 13 this year. Hunnam was quickly replaced, however, when Irish actor Jamie Dornan signed on to star alongside Dakota Johnson on October 24. This means that casting problems are probably not the cause of the delay after all.

The film is slated to begin shooting in December. It will be distributed by Universal Pictures' Focus Features. Despite the 50 Shades trilogy having been panned by many critics, the book became the fastest selling paperback of all time in Britain. It remains to be seen whether the adaptation will achieve similar success. The 2015 release date means that it is possible for the film to lose a lot of the built-in buzz from the book release.

Jamie Dornan is officially the new Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie. With Dornan's casting, the film can once again begin to pick up steam and finally begin filming, following weeks of frantic searching for a new Grey. With the appointment, the film may still be finished in time to reach the scheduled 1 August, 2014 release date.

Charlie Hunnam Finally Responds To '50 Shades Of Grey' Departure

Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam went from a relatively private actor in a television series to becoming the center of a media frenzy in a very short period of time.

The British star received a large amount of negative responses when he agreed to play the lead male role in the film adaptation of '50 Shades of Grey', and it proved to be too much to handle as he dropped out of the upcoming project.

Now the search is on for his 'Christian Grey' replacement and Hunnam has finally broken his silence on the sudden departure at a charity event for the 'One Heart Source' organisation in Burbank, California, with his 'Sons of Anarchy' co-stars on Saturday (Oct 19th).

Charlie Hunnam Heading Back To England After 'Fifty Shades' Nightmare

Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam has spoken publicaly for the first time since dropping out of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie - apparently because of a dispute over the script. The Sons of Anarchy star walked away from Sam Taylor-Johnson's movie just two weeks before filming was set to go ahead in Vancouver, though he appears to have no regrets.

Speaking at an evening benefitting the One Heart Source Education Programs in Africa at Mo's Restaurant in California, Hunnam told E! News, "I am doing good. I am just really concentrating on work. It's been a really busy time.I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive."

Hunnam's father Charlie passed away in May this year and the Pacific Rim actor is keen to return to his homeland.

"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule, which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," Universal Pictures said in a statement. Charlie Hunnam Drops Out Of 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Role, But How Come?

Charlie Hunnam Dakota Johnson Ian Somerhalder Matt Bomer

After things were looking so promising and as though they were finally ready to get off the ground, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has hit yet another stumbling block. Charlie Hunnam, the man signed on for the lead role as Christian Grey, has officially dropped out of the project, leaving the film's makers with the task of finding yet another Grey.

Citing an "immersive" schedule ahead of him as the reason he dropped out of the project, his own excuse has since been followed by others claiming he had ulterior motives to leave the book adaptation behind. When his decision to leave the project was made clear on Saturday, 12 October, through a statement from Universal, it cited "Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule," as the sole reason for his exit, "which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."

However, since then there have been other explanations as to why Hunnam chose to drop out of the project. According to E! News, the role of Christian Grey would bring with it more and more media attention and Hunnam was already becoming overwhelmed with the attention the role brought him. It isn't the role of the S&M-obsessed Grey that has put him off of the role, just the constant media and fan frenzy that surrounds it and for this reason he chose to give up the coveted role. The attention and the pressure was intense," the source explained.

So far the 50 Shades of Grey project has brought 50 shades of trouble with Universal, first with casting difficulties and now with Charlie Hunnam exiting the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Sons of Anarchy actor backed out of the project, claiming that his work on the series would prevent him from adequately preparing for the role of Christian Grey. The initial statement by Universal read: The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”

Despite his initial bravado about the part, Hunnam has now backed out.

However, THR cites two new sources, which claim that it was actually the pressure of playing such a controversial, high-profile role that got to Hunnam and made him turn down the part.

Sons Of Anarchy Season 6 Premiere Sees Highest Ratings Ever

FX's 'Sons of Anarchy' premiered its 6th season on Tuesday night (September 10, 2013) to the highest ratings the show has ever received. The special 90 minute episode saw 5.9 million viewers according to Nielsen, tune in to see the motor-cycle gang's controversial opening episode.

The premiere episode included two rape scenes, a death by drowning and an alarmingly terrifying school shooting scene, the motor-cycle gang has clearly expanded their violent capabilities to heights that Sons of Anarchy fans are not used to.

James Poniewozik of Time Entertainment discusses the brutal season opener, "Here, both the rape-porn storyline and the school shooting underscore the idea, repeated in Sons, that once you start crossing moral lines, you can't control the repercussions, even when you tell yourself that there are worse bad guys than you". From this, the viewers can take some comfort as it seems the consequences of their actions will be severe enough to justify the depiction of a school shooting.

If the prospects of having to get his kit off many times on screen as well as learn how to deftly wield whips and paddles may have flustered Charlie Hunnam, the actor who'll play Fifty Shades of Grey's Christian Grey, then the news that over 75,000 furious 50 Shades readers had taken their discontentment towards him playing the lead male role to Change.org to demand a casting reshuffle, should by rights make him feel practically terrified.

Nothing Can Stop "Excited" Charlie Hunnam From Starring In "Fifty Shades"

Charlie Hunnam Dakota Johnson Sam Taylor-Wood

Fifty Shades of Grey readers might not be all that happy about the casting of Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam for the lead parts in the film, but the actors themselves couldn’t be more thrilled. Hunnam shared some of his excitement in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter and explained why the role of billionaire Christian Grey, which several actors had reportedly turned down before he was approached, wasn’t enough to make him nervous. Like the source material, E. L. James’s Fifty Shades series, the film will feature a number of very explicit sexual scenes. However, Hunnam, who acted in the Channel 4 miniseries Queer as Folk during his teenage years, is no stranger to the idea. He explained for THR.

Fans are revolting against Hunnam's casting.

"My first job was on a Channel 4 miniseries called Queer as Folk. It was incredibly explicit sexual scenes with a man," Hunnam said. "I mean I'm 16 and 17 years wiser now. So if I could do it when I was 18 with a guy, I can certainly do it at 33 with a lady."

Fifty Shades Of Grey Casting Under Fire: Which Major Stars Rejected The Roles?

Charlie Hunnam Dakota Johnson Sam Taylor-Wood

The Fifty Shades of Grey cast, headed by the relatively unknown actors Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson, has come under fire in recent days with fans of E.L James' novel starting a petition to get the decision overturned.

Of course, the 17,000 people who called for producers to remove the duo from the adaptation of the trashy erotic novel need to wake up and smell the coffee. The story - dubbed mummy-porn and critically derided for its silly tale of a domineering billionaire and his submissive student - was never going to attract the likes of Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum and Michael Fassbender, who were the early frontrunners or the male lead.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson publicly ruled herself out of the running after being repeatedly linked to the Universal Pictures project.

By now it’s a well-known fact that the actors, selected for the lead parts in 50 Shades of Gray – Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam – don’t really appeal to fans’ tastes. In fact, some avid readers of the book went so far, as to express their distaste with an online petition. It’s written mostly in caps, so you know they mean business.

According to The Hollywood Reporter however, at the time of Hunnam and Johnson’s casting, the studio was running out of options. Rumors about possible casting choices, from the somewhat plausible to the downright ridiculous, have been swirling for months. During this entire time, Universal Pictures were working to find the perfect Ana Steele and Christian Grey. According to the Reporter, Ryan Gosling was the first actor to be considered. Unfortunately, he wasn’t interested. The studio’s interest then went to Garett Hedlund and British TV star Christian Cooke, both of whom reportedly passed on the controversial role.

They once read Fifty Shades of Grey secretly on the train using Kindles, but now the readers of EL James' notorious "mommy porn" erotic trilogy have stood up and banded together in sheer outrage. With all page-to-screen adaptations, there will always be those who think "I didn't imagine that character to look like that actor," and maybe grumble about it amongst their friends or on the murky depths of a fan forum. However, 50 Shades fans have launched a petition for the male and female leads - Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson - to be changed.

The furious petition, launched on Change.org, has now gathered 23.5K supporters who feel that White Collar's Matt Bomer and Gilmore Girls' Alexis Bledel should take the main roles of kinky billionaire Christian Grey and student-turned-sex-slave Anastasia Steele. It's perhaps true; Bomer and Bledel do perhaps fit EL James' character descriptions a little better than the (both blonde) Hunnam and Johnson so there's little wonder as to why these actors were imagined when 50 Shades fans were reading.

Why Don't '50 Shades Of Grey' Fans Want Dakota Johnson & Charlie Hunnam In The Film?

Dakota Johnson Charlie Hunnam E.L. James

It was announced earlier this week that after months of searching Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam have been chosen as the lead actors to bring E.L. James' hugely successful erotica novel 50 Shades of Grey to life. After such a long time waiting, you would assume that Universal would have gotten the casting right at the first attempt, but according to a number of disgruntled, internet-based fans, this is not the case.

Dakota Johnson
Dakota Johnson has been chosen to play Anastasia Steele in the movie

Hunnam could have found himself the role that turns him into a fully-fledged mega-star when he takes on Christian Grey, the young billionaire S&M enthusiast, but that is providing that the angry online fans don't scare him out of the job before he's even begun filming. Having been picked ahead of favourites Ian Somerhalder and Robert Pattinson, various commentators are complaining that Hunnam just doesn't fit the description of Grey in in James' books. He may posses the gym-sculpted body, the necessary age gap and the element of badass needed for the role, but without the right looks he apparently won't cut it in the movie.

50 Shades Of Grey Lead Male Revealed. What Is There To Know About Charlie Hunnam?

Charlie Hunnam

The actor who will portray Christian Grey is Newcastle native Charlie Hunnam, born April 10th 1980. So who exactly is the 33 year old actor and will he be able to handle the task of portraying a young, handsome entrepreneur who also carries a dark, brash secret?

The British actor began his career on the television series Byker Grove in his native Newcastle in 1998 and was later cast in another television series called Queer as Folk as the love smitten Nathan Maloney.

Many people would most likely have first being introduced to Charlie in a depiction of the life of football hooligans and their attraction to violence, Green Street (2005). He was cast alongside Elijah Wood as the leader of his football firm. The film received mixed reviews, with Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times stating "the steady diet of brutal street fighting makes it all but impossible to connect with this picture, despite whatever visceral appeal it may offer".

Pacific Rim Trailer

It has always been thought that alien life would arrive on the planet from space, but when colossal monsters arise from the depths of the Pacific Ocean, it soon becomes clear that mankind are facing a threat unlike what they have ever anticipated before. The creatures are known as Kaiju and manage to effortlessly destroy cities around them, use up resources and take away millions of lives. While the Earth's population worry that the apocalypse has finally arrived, the military are less than willing to accept that fate and build enormous robots called Jaegers in an attempt to fight back. They work by having two people controlling them from the inside with their minds linked. However, even they are no match against the Kaiju and the defenders of Earth decide that they must enlist the help of an ex-pilot and untested trainee to bring to life an early model of a Jaeger that has earned much recognition despite being potentially just as useless as the others in this fight for the survival of Earth.

Directing and co-writing this action-packed sci-fi flick is Guillermo Del Toro ('Pan's Labyrinth', 'Hellboy') with writing credits also from Travis Beacham ('Clash of the Titans', 'Dog Days of Summer'). It is due to be released next summer; July 12th 2013.

Back As A Baddie: Eric Bana On The Joys Of Being A Psychopath In Deadfall

Eric Bana Olivia Wilde Nicolas Cage Charlie Hunnam Sissy Spacek Kris Kristofferson

Eric Bana’s back to life as a baddie in Deadfall. He stars opposite Olivia Wilde in the movie, in which he plays a gun-toting psycho.

In his own words, the movie is “an adult drama where essentially it's all pushing us toward a scene where a dysfunctional family sits around the table at Thanksgiving, and is forced to give thanks because I have a shot gun pointed at their heads.” Cheery stuff, Bana… cheery stuff.

Explaining why he took on the role, he explained “I just thought it was a very well-written script; I thought it was very entertaining… It’s hard finding great scripts and it’s hard finding great dialogue and I really felt that this is a case where the two came together.” Talking about his co-star Olivia Wilde, Bana said “she’s a doll, you know and she’s very funny. You don’t get a true sense of that with Liza, her character, but no, she was great to work with… I just wish I’d had more stuff with her in the film. I got a kiss in, though. Managed to squeeze a kiss in. Even though she does play my sister.”

Green Street Hooligans Review

OK
Lately, Elijah Wood has been very busy trying to establish himself as an actor apart from his role as Frodo in the obsessively popular Lord of the Rings phenomenon. Portraying peculiar supporting characters in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City, and Spy Kids 3-D, he's definitely made a valiant effort. He continues with Green Street Hooligans, this time attempting to play a tough guy. This is a first for Wood... and, hopefully, a last.

Originally titled just Hooligans, the film begins as a Harvard journalism student named Matt (Wood) is wrongfully expelled. To escape from his father's judgment, he jumps aboard a plane headed to London to visit his sister (Claire Forlani) and her husband Steve (Marc Warren). Almost immediately -- maybe out of rebellion, maybe out of curiosity -- he ditches sis and her hubby to hit the local pubs and football games (soccer for Americans) with Steve's irresponsible brother, Pete (Charlie Hunnam), and his band of hard-edged, hooligan friends.

Children Of Men Review

Excellent
Perhaps because of its bleak outlook, its lushly dark tones, or its often blunt criticism of the current world state, Alfonso Cuaron's fourth major film will have to fight just as hard as his two Spanish films to find an audience. The bearer of one the worst marketing and public relations campaigns in years, Children of Men could have been the wriggling stepson that Universal has made it out to be, but it turns out to be anything but.

It's 2027, and the youngest person in Britain (and the world), Baby Diego, has just been killed by a rabid fan; he was 18. Somewhere between 2006 and 2016, women started becoming infertile, causing mass miscarriages and major panics. Theo (Clive Owen) doesn't seem that concerned when we meet him, narrowly averting an explosion near a local café. He spends his time with his friend Jasper (a wily Michael Caine) who makes cannabis mixed with strawberry and tries to forget the family he once had. Julian (Julianne Moore), his ex-wife, has taken up with a pack of refugees that fight against the military state that has been active since London began understanding its grave future. When Julian stumbles upon a girl who miraculously is with child, she immediately kidnaps Theo and puts him in charge of getting the girl, Kee (Claire-Hope Ashitey), to a specialized group of the world's smartest people known as the Human Project.

Nicholas Nickleby Review

Good
Poor Charles Dickens. He has the good fortune to be remembered by the entire world. What high school student hasn't been forced to suffer through Great Expectations? Nowadays, one of his books (and he didn't really write that many) is turned into a movie or a mini-series every year. (2001 saw four Dickens recreations on film or TV.)

2002 will earn but a single Dickens adaptation, a motion picture of Nicholas Nickleby, perhaps Dickens' least-read work and one of his most wandering (the novel being more than 800 pages long).

Cold Mountain Review

Weak

From the very first words of its opening voice-over, inwhich a detectable trace of Aussie inflection invades Nicole Kidman's affectedSouthern accent, there's something amiss with "Cold Mountain,"a two-and-a-half-hour Civil War epic built around a lackluster love story, written and directed by an Englishman, starring half a dozen British actorsand shot in Romania.

Sweeping in scope, the picture's earnest intentions, periodatmosphere and cinematic beauty are above reproach as it portrays brutal, bloody, brother-against-brother battlefields and a North Carolina home-fronthamlet where prim, city-bred newcomer Ada Monroe (Nicole Kidman) waitsfor the return of her soldier sweetheart while struggling to survive onher dead father's farm.

And yet, the emotional investment in the characters issomething less than sweeping. The passionless decorum of Ada's first-reelcourtship by the adoring but reticent Inman (Jude Law), the declarationof war which cuts short their time together, and the questionable castingof Kidman -- who at 36 is too old to be credible as a bashful unmarriedbelle in 1864 Dixie -- result in a lack of validity and vitality that isn'tremedied until the invigorating second-act arrival of Renee Zellweger.

Abandon Review

Weak

There's a little more to "Abandon" than the stock woman-in-peril thriller it looks like. But since writer-director Stephen Gaghan stages the film like a stock woman-in-peril thriller, there's no way to know this until the last 10 minutes when the twists kick in.

The first 9/10ths of the picture consists largely of cutie coed Katie Holmes having her thesis-oriented last semester of college turned into a distractingly stressful ordeal by a cop (Benjamin Bratt) coming around to dredge up the two-year-old case of her missing boyfriend (Charlie Hunnam). Well, that and the fact that soon thereafter the boyfriend -- an arrogant, idle-rich kid with a silly shaggy hairdo and a penchant for brash theatrics -- reappears and begins stalking her from the shadows.

With only a few obscure, barely crumb-like hints that there might be something more going on than just unwelcome visits from a nefarious ex, the movie coasts along on perfunctory tension and Holmes' good looks for several reels while waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Nicholas Nickleby Review

Weak

You deserve a grain-of-salt warning before reading this review: Your friendly film critic really can't abide Charles Dickens, and "Nicholas Nickleby" is especially exemplary of everything that irks me about his work.

The characters in this tale of 19th Century woe are largely one-dimensional -- implausibly sweet and naive or absurdly ruthless and cruel without reason -- and they invite second-guessing to a distracting degree.

Nineteen years old and suddenly the head of his family after his father's death, the title character (played by the over-earnest Charlie Hunnam) reluctantly moves with his mother and sister from the quiet country cottage they can no longer afford to dirty, polluted, noisy, heartless London, seeking the help of Nicholas's rich, odious uncle (Christopher Plummer), who doesn't see why he should be burdened with helping his brother's family.
