Country star Charlie Daniels is recovering in hospital after receiving a pacemaker implant.
The Devil Went Down to Georgia hitmaker was taken to a Nashville, Tennessee medical centre on Monday (25Mar13) after a bout with poor health and he underwent surgery to control his heart rhythm.
The 76 year old is also being treated for pneumonia, but he hopes to be discharged by the weekend (30-31Mar13) so he can spend the Easter holiday with his family.
A statement from Daniels to People.com reads, "I just had not been feeling well and wanted to get checked out. I am thankful the doctors found the problem and were able to implant a pacemaker to get my heart rate regulated. I am feeling so much better and looking forward to spending Easter with my family."
The singer has cancelled all of his upcoming shows until 11 April (13).
