Jonathan is a young cop with a loving wife and small daughter. He enjoys his job and his life could not be any better. However, as a child Jonathan was forced to make some life changing decisions that have haunted him ever since.
Just as Jonathan is starting to relax, he is transferred to a rough neighbourhood in New York, the very same neighbourhood that he grew up in. He is even working under an old family friend: Detective Stanford, a friend of Jonathan's father. While eager to show his daughter around the familiar streets, he can't help but reflect on his bitter past - even more so when his past starts appearing in newspapers and eventually, as a police assignment.
Sixteen years ago, in the very neighbourhood Jonathan has been assigned to, two murders took place and the press suspects that they were covered up by the police. Detective Stanford assigns Jonathan to uncover the crimes and catch the murderer.
Jonathan reluctantly starts to dig for information but malicious anonymous phone calls and letters threaten to harm his job and his family. Detective Stanford becomes suspicious as he rightly suspects that Jonathan may have been involved somehow in the crimes committed all those years ago. But can Jonathan keep his childhood secrets to himself?
