'21 Jump Street' star Channing Tatum has been asked to voice Superman in Warner Bros' new Lego superhero movie, 'Lego: The Piece of Resistance'.
The film will be a fusion of Lego based animation and live action and will feature the international DC Comics favourites, Superman and Batman. The plot circles around a normal civilian Lego mini figure, Emmet, who is recruited into the Fellowship of Strangers following a case of mistaken identity when he is thought to be incredible MasterBuilder. The Fellowship embark on a mission to prevent an evil villain from gluing together the entire universe. Whilst it has been confirmed that Chris Pratt ('The Five Year Engagement') will voice Emmet and 'Men in Black 3' star Will Arnett will play the voice of Batman, Tatum's part has not been written in stone due to his already hectic work schedule including filming action thriller 'White House Down' and sci-fi drama flick 'Foxcatcher'. He is also set to begin filming the '21 Jump Street' sequel, according to Variety.
Directing the film is Chris MCKay ('Robot Chicken') and writers are collaborative twosome Chris Miller and Phil Lord ('Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs'). The film has been in development since 2008 but won't be released until early 2014.
