Channing Tatum, the Hollywood actor and star of 'Magic Mike', says he takes "complete responsibility" for his co-star Matthew Mcconaughey's recent wedding to his long-time partner Camila Alves.
The couple married in a three-day ceremony at their sprawling Texas estate earlier this month, though Tatum claims the whole idea sprung from their new movie - based on his own stripping days. He explained to E! News, "They've been together for a while, they have little babies together, but not until after this movie did it actually happen. She came to watch him dance, watched his talents onstage, went home, wrote the [wedding] invitation and said, 'Here, this is what it's gonna be.I did that!". To MCConaughey's credit, he acknowledged Tatum's role in the nuptials and chipping in during the interview saying, "He did it". The pair star in Steven Soderberg's new movie about a stripper who takes a young dancer under his wing and shows him the ropes. At the press junket for the film, Tatum was asked where he learnt his moves from the film, explaining, "In the South you just sort of dance like that. It's a huge Latin community, and when you have booty music, that's how you all get to know each other, you know, in high school".
As for whether he'd shown off his dance moves to wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing joked, "My wife [Jenna Dewan-Tatum] married a stripper, so it was sort of a prerequisite as far as she was concerned. She was like, 'You gotta check the box". 'Magic Mike' hits cinemas on Friday (June 29, 2012).
