Director Bennett Miller has described, following a showing of 'Foxcatcher' at the Telluride Film Festival, what first attracted him to the story.
Bennett Miller's soon-to-be-released film Foxcatcher has been shown at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and the director has discussed what aspects of the story first attracted him to the project.
Could you imagine Ryan Gosling and Bill Nighy in the 'Foxcatcher' leads?
Foxcatcher, the psychological drama from the supremely talented Bennett Miller, is without doubt one of the most anticipated movies of the year and Sony has stepped up its marketing with a new trailer and a couple of film festival announcements (including the BFI London Film Festival).
The movie tells the true story of Olympic Gold medal winning wrestler Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) who sees a way out from the shadow of his more celebrated brother Dave (Mark Ruffalo) when he is summoned by eccentric millionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell) to move onto his estate and train for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Desperate to gain the respect of his disapproving mother, du Pont begins coaching a world-class team though lures Mark into dangerous habits and a destructive spiral. Of course, this all sounds amazing.

The trailer for Bennett Miller's upcoming film 'Foxcatcher' has been released. Based on a tragic true story, the film has already premiered at Cannes and Steve Carell, who plays a wrestling obsessed schizophrenic, has been highly praised by critics.
Steve Carell is almost unrecognisable as paranoid schizophrenia and wrestling obsessive John du Pont in the upcoming film Foxcatcher. Directed by Bennett Miller who was responsible for such films as Capote, the film is based on the true story of two brothers, Dave and Mark Schultz, who were Olympic wrestling gold medallists.
Channing Tatum and Steve Carell in Foxcatcher.
John du Pont is a multi-millionaire sports coach who has taken an interest in wrestling, wishing to train up a team for the upcoming 1988 Seoul Olympics at his state-of-the-art training facility. When Olympic Gold Medallist wrestler Mark Schultz catches his eye, Mark can't believe his luck having always felt overshadowed by his renowned older brother Dave. Mark and du Pont develop a strong father-son relationship that pretty soon begins to get a little unhealthy; Mark starts to realise that there's a lot more to du Pont than he initially thought as he starts to witness increasingly volatile and erratic behaviour from him. Nonetheless, he is overcome by jealousy on seeing du Pont's newfound obsession with his charismatic brother and through the whirlwind of unusual bonds, deepening insecurity and unstable emotions, tragedy of the worst kind is about to ensue.

'Think Like A Man Too' may overtake '22 Jump Street' in this weekend's US Box Office. The comedy, starring Kevin Hart, made over $12 million on its opening night on Friday (20th June).
Kevin Hart stars in Think Like A Man Too.
Think Like A Man Too is the sequel to the 2012 comedy Think Like A Man. The sequel sees many of the ensemble cast reprise their roles as the couples head to Las Vegas for a wedding. Kevin Hart takes the lead in the comedy alongside Adam Brody, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrera, Regina Hall and La La Anthony.
'22 Jump Street' stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum entertained fans at the movie's New York premiere by posing alongside two real life police officers (much more official looking than their own characters in the crime comedy) named Officer Ross Dichter and Officer James Carosa. Officer Dichter can be seen placing Channing's hands in handcuffs.
Channing Tatum talks diaper changing skills and how every day with his daughter is "amazing."
Channing Tatum has made a pretty bold claim when it comes to his parenting skills. “I’m solid at diaper changing!” the Magic Mike actor revealed in an interview. He added: “If a guy isn’t good at changing a diaper I don’t know what he’s there for really, because for the first seven months or so, the mom is the end-all, be-all of everything.”
Tatum and wife Jenna Dewa-Tatum met in 2006 and married in 2009
Channing and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum met on set of their 2006 movie Step Up and began dating soon after. They married in 2009 and on May 31 2013 their daughter Everly was born in London. “[Everly] does not like sitting still but I can [change the diaper] even when she’s crawling, standing up, doing the whole thing.”

'22 Jump Street' reviews have been largely positive following its US release (13th June). Critics have highly praised stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have returned as Morton Schmidt and Greg Jenko, the undercover cops we saw cause havoc and hilarity in 21 Jump Street. Only this time they've graduated high school and are heading to college. Critics loved the first movie, a modernisation of the hit 80s show of the same name, but has 22 Jump Street managed to impress?

It's going to be a tight race, but "Jump Street" is looking strong so far.
The weekend’s box office scores are already taking shape. The race was bound to be neck and neck, but by the end of Friday, the Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill comedy 22 Jump Street emerged with a slight lead. The sequel banked $25 million on Friday and is on track for a $60 million weekend total, making it the second highest grossing R-rated comedy in history. This time around, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill play their familiar goofy cop buddies, who get sent to college for an undercover drugs bust.

The bromance is still going strong, but that's about it for "Jump Street".
For once, 22 Jump Street seems to have done the R-rated comedy sequel right. Not only is the movie doing great in reviews – currently it has 86% on Rotten Tomatoes – it’s also heading for a strong opening weekend.
According to Deadline, both Jump Streetand the other wide release this weekend – How to Train Your Dragon 2 – are expected to top $50 million over the three day period, so it should be a tight race for the top spot.

The '22 Jump Street' reviews are hugely encouraging ahead of the movie's U.S bow this weekend.
'21 Jump Street' was an unexpected delighted in 2012 for olumbia with the seemingly mismatched team of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill proving they had the comedy clout to not only pull off the movie adaptation of the teen series - but make it good. In the sequel - 22 Jump Street - the pair make the case for being considered one of the best new comedy duos around.

'22 Jump Street' has scored strong reviews, proving that the comedy sequel is alive and well.
The central joke of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's follow-up 22 Jump Street is that sequels are by definition bigger and more complicated, but never quite as good as the original. Indeed, at every point the filmmakers one-up 2012's 21 Jump Street, from the fact that every crashed car explodes into a ball of flame to the new glass-and-steel headquarters for the undercover squad, just across the street from the old one.

Clearly this is a theory that's been adopted by Marvel for their Avengers family of movies, as the stakes keep getting higher and higher. But once you've saved Los Angeles, New York, London and the entire planet, where do you go? So now we have Thor's inter-realm shenanigans. And they're pushing it into a new level with this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Book Of Live will make you see death in a whole new light.
Death may not seem like an optimum subject for an animated feature, but in The Book of Life director Jorge Gutierrez quite literally brings the subject alive using vibrant colours and 3-D animation. Despite taking on what could be seen as a dark subject matter, Gutierrez has crafted a beautiful piece of moving art, which will surely enchant and enthral viewers. It might not hit theatres until October 17th, but we’re betting that this one could just be the next big animated feature.
Manolo is fighting for the affection of his love Maria
The Book of the Life begins with two gods betting on the outcome of a love triangle between a girl named Maria and her two suitors, the arrogant Joaquin and the much more charming Manolo. When Maria comes close to choosing Manolo, one of the gods intervenes, poisoning him to ensure Joaquin will be chosen.

A consistently hilarious stream of in-jokes keeps the audience in fits of laughter even if there's virtually no plot to this follow-up to the 2012 hit 21 Jump Street. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum revive their amusing double-act to poke fun at sequels and franchises amid silly set-pieces and starry cameos. And it gives filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller their second terrific comedy of the year, after The Lego Movie.
Following their successful bust of a high school drug ring, undercover officers Schmidt and Jenko (Hill and Tatum) are assigned by their grumpy captain (Ice Cube) to infiltrate a university and track down who's dealing the new drug whyphy. But both get distracted by life on campus: Schmidt begins a romance with Maya (Amber Stevens), while Jenko finds his meathead soul-mate in football teammate Zook (Wyatt Russell). With their partnership in jeopardy, Schmidt and Jenko must refocus on a spring break trip to Mexico, where they discover an old nemesis (Peter Stormare) on the loose.
Using a non-stop series of gags about how follow-up movies are more expensive and less original, the filmmakers go about proving this hypothesis with amusingly overwrought sets and a chaotic, derivative narrative that has very little momentum. Meanwhile, they pack every moment of the film with witty humour that's played expertly by Hill and Tatum, who rekindle their chemistry with a steady barrage of gay double entendre that reveals the movie's true nature as a brom-com. On the other hand, neither the actors nor the filmmakers are willing to push things too far, so they settle for silly vulgarity instead of any black comedy or edgy humour.

Why on Earth have the Wachowskis put the skids on their dazzling summer blockbuster?
Jupiter Ascending won't see release until February next year, it has recently been announced. The unusual, late minute move marks the movie's opening pushed back seven months despite promotion for the sci-fi blockbuster having reached a peak.
We were excited way back in March for the Wachowski brothers futuristic slingshot into space, which stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum and Sean Bean but have now been told that we'll have to wait until next February to see the movie's special effects, which look to be awesome.
It is actually the special effects department that has reportedly delayed the movie. "With the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time," said Warner Bros. domestic distribution chief Dan Fellman, via Variety. "A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time."

The star is on the charm offensive after his homophobic slur
Jonah Hill landed himself in a bit of trouble recently when he told a paparazzi to “suck his d*ck” and called him a “f**ggot”. Having been a staunch supporter of LGBT rights for his whole life, the scandal did seem like a surprise, and Hill has offered up numerous heartfelt apologies on both The Howard Stern Show and The Tonight Show.

“This person had been following me around all day, had been saying hurtful things about my family, really hurtful things about me personally,” Hill explained. “And I played into exactly what he wanted and lost my cool. And in that moment, I said a disgusting word that does not at all reflect how I feel about any group of people… I’m not at all defending my choice of words, but I’m happy to be the poster boy for thinking about what you say and how those words — even if you don’t intend them — and how they’re rooted in hate and that’s bullshit and I shouldn’t have said that.”

Change your diaries, we’re going to have to wait until next year for 'Jupiter Ascending'.
It’s time to change our summer viewing plans, because sadly, Jupiter Ascending will not be coming to a theatre near you this July. The Wachowskis’ ‘space opera’, starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum was scheduled for release on July 18th 2014, but now it won't be coming to us until next February!
It's now a much longer wait for Jupiter Ascending
So why the change? Well, apparently it’s all down to those tricky visual effects. If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ll know that Jupiter Ascending is heavy on the special effects, so it’s no real surprise that they could be the cause of the hold up. Dan Fellman, Warner Bros’ president of domestic distribution said, “We’ve been trying like hell to get this finished, but there are over 2,000 visual effects shots in the movie, and it’s just not gonna happen in time.”
The Wachowskis latest sci-fi epic has been pushed back seven months and will now hit theatres on February 6th 2015.
Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum's debuting partnership on the big-screen will have to wait as the release date of the sci-fi epic, 'Jupiter Ascending,' has been postponed until 2015.
Originally scheduled to hit theatres on July 18th, Warner Bros. has decided to delay the premiere in order to have enough time to complete extensive special effects.

As sequels go, this ones flying high
The buddy cop movie is back, and officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) have to go back to college as undercover agents trying to get to the root of a drug doing the rounds on campus in '22 Jump Street'. Of course, the mission doesn’t go exactly to plan via a concoction of college memories and nasty gangsters.

With the extreme success of 21 Jump Street, Phil Lord and Chris Miller were under intense pressure to deliver with this sequel. But if the early reviews are anything to go by, they’ve nailed it.

Jonah Hill's gay slur could affect the performance of '22 Jump Street'.
Just as Sony was stepping up its promotion for 22 Jump Street - one of its big hitters for this summer - Jonah Hill has dropped a homophobic sized bombshell on proceedings. The 30-year-old has a pretty clean reputation in Hollywood and is generally considered one of the nice guys of comedy, though, under pressure from a persistent paparazzo, the actor used a homophobic slur in a video obtained by TMZ.com.

‘Foxcatcher’, with its range of themes beyond wrestling glory, has quickly become the most talked about and well liked film at the Cannes Film Festival and critics have hastened to agree.
Murder, wrestling and the French Riviera don’t seem to go hand in hand, yet Steve Carell’s Foxcatcher has definitely won over the crowds and critics at Cannes Film Festival.
Channing Tatum and Steve Carell star in Foxcatcher.
Foxcatcher revolves around a prominent sports sponsor John du Pont (Carell), who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and was convicted of murder in 1996 after he shot Olympic wrestling champion Dave Schultz (played by Mark Ruffalo). Named after the farm in which du Pont set up a wrestling gym and subsequently shot Dave, it is based on an autobiography by Mark Schultz, Dave’s brother. As such, the film also follows the glory and tragedy of Mark (Channing Tatum) who went on to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games and two at the World Championships in the 1980s.

One day, Mark is invited to the luxurious home of sports sponsor John du Pont, who wishes to train up a team for the forthcoming 1988 Seoul Olympics at his own training facility. Mark is thrilled to be recognised for his talents for once, and begins to appreciate du Pont like a father. Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear that du Pont is not all he once appeared to be, being prone to increasingly volatile and erratic behaviour, and his support of Mark begins to get unhealthy. Not only that, but it seems he is now obsessed by the charismatic persona of Dave, and through jealousy and spiralling paranoia, tragedy of the ultimate kind is about to ensue.

The winner of the prestigious Palme d'Or will be announced on May 25, which of these Cannes Film Festival offerings will take home the prize?
So, we’ve got to admit we’re sort of gunning for Mike Leigh’s film Mr. Turner to win the Palme d’Or 2014, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other films in the running for the prestigious award. Among the 18 films competing to win the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, the winner of which which will be announced on May 25, these are the films we think are most likely to scoop the award.

This intergalactic sci-fi adventure might just be the best showcase of the Wachowski’s writing and visual talents since the first ‘Matrix’.

New trailer... who's excited?
There’s a new trailer out for the upcoming Channing Tatum starrer 22 Jump Street. There were previously two trailers – the red band and the green band. This one is the green band trailer, except it has a new scene attached to the end. It’s pretty funny, if ever so slightly… well, you’ll see.
22 Jump Street is the sequel to the 2012 hit 21 Jump Street (Sony didn’t get too creative with the titles) in which two deadbeat cops get sent to a high school to go undercover and bust a synthetic drug ring. In the new one, it looks like Jenko (Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) are up to their old tricks. Only they’ve now graduated from high school (in more ways than one) and are investigating a new case at a local college. Like 21, the sequel is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a story by Michael Bacall.

Inventive visuals and a seriously deranged script make this animated adventure far more enjoyable than we expect, especially as it brings out the childish creativity in everyone watching. Filmmakers Lord and Miller are experts at finding offbeat comedy in the most surprising places (see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs or 21 Jump Street). And this movie is often jaw-droppingly entertaining.
It's set in a Lego city where construction worker Emmet (voiced by Pratt) follows instructions to the letter. Like everyone else, he has been lulled into complacency by President Business (Ferrell), whose inanely catchy pop songs (the insanely hummable Everything Is Awesome!) and mindless TV shows (Where Are My Pants?) keep people from thinking creatively. He's also concocting an insidious plan involving a secret weapon called the Kragle. Then Emmet inadvertently discovers the Piece of Resistance and is declared "The Special" by the underground rebel alliance led by Wyldstyle (Banks) and Vitruvius (Freeman). With help from Batman (Arnett), a patched-up pirate (Offerman) and a groovy kitty (Brie), they go off-grid to save their civilisation, pursued by the president's vicious enforcer (Neeson).
As the story spirals from the city to the Wild West and Cloud Cuckoo Land, it develops an insane, free-wheeling tone that can't help but spark our imaginations. And the sassy 3D animation adds to this by evoking surreal stop-motion classics like Gumby or The Magic Roundabout while referencing other movies and playing merrily with iconic characters. Hill, Smulders and Tatum turn up as a trio of frustrated superheroes, while Daniels and Williams offer a bit of Star Wars silliness. All of the vocal cast members dive into their characters with energy, bringing out the warped humour and pulling us into the action and even some emotional moments.

The 'Magic Mike' actor has turned his attention to a sequel even more spectacular than the original.
Channing Tatum has confirmed that a Magic Mike sequel is in the works by posting a photo of himself, pen and paper in hand, looking at a plaster bust of fellow actor Matthew Mcconaughey. Tatum, who had ditched his Magic Mike G-string and rip-off clothing, announced that he was writing the next in the semi-autobiographical stripper comedy's instalment.
Channing Tatum Has Confirmed That He's Writing The 'Magic Mike' Sequel.
"What better way to start writing #MagicMike2 than with my old friend Dallas?#runatribe," he captioned the photo in which he sports a feathered trilby and grey cardigan whilst working at his desk. It is said that the new movie will revolve around a roadtrip as the male strippers go on tour.
There's high anticipation for release of 'The Lego Movie'.
Danish company The Lego Group have partnered up with Warner Brothers for the first feature length Lego film, The Lego Movie, set to hit the big screen in 2014.
A child's imagination is what made Lego blocks what they were. They could make a spaceship, a Wild West shootout or even a pirate ship come to life; well, maybe for a few hours until the few remaining pieces left out were embedded in a parent's foot. Now it has reached a safer place for adults as the loveable figures make their way from the toy box onto the big-screen in 3D animation comes Warner Brothers production: 'The Lego Movie'. With a highly admirable voiceover cast of Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Channing Tatum and Elizabeth Banks, the film looks ready to be a 2014 BLOCK-buster sensation.

Tatum teams up with Jonah Hill for another shot at the cop comedy.
The red line trailer has just been released for new cop comedy 22 Jump Street, the sequel to 2012's commercially and critically successful 21 Jump Street. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will reprise their roles as Schmidt and Jenko, two undercover police officers who have another drug supplier to catch, only this time they've graduated from high school to college.
Channing Tatum & Jonah Hill Reprise Their Roles In This Comedy Cop Sequel.
"You two sons-a-bitches are going to college," we hear Ice Cube bark at Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the trailer before we see montages of the typical movie-ready university scenes: heavy drinking in the hallways, beer pong, sex, shared bathroom dilemmas and deadline library clashes - all with a sludgy hip-hop soundtrack. In no great leap of imagination, the former classmates have immersed themselves in varsity life.
Having successfully managed to nab the suppliers behind a new high school narcotic during their first stint in special division 21 Jump Street, young police officers Schmidt and Jenko are forced to return to college after moving to 22 Jump Street in order to bag the culprits behind another drug surge. There, it's a blur of debauchery, partying and drinking games as they wheedle their way into the different social circles in a bid to find the source of the new substance - even re-visiting some old perps in jail for information. However, their own professional partnership is compromised when they get mixed up in different college scenes and they have to decide if working together is right for them both in the long run.
'22 Jump Street' is the sequel to 2012's award-winning comedy '21 Jump Street' which is based on Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh's 1987 TV series of the same name. With directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller ('Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', 'Clone High') at the helm, it has been written by star Jonah Hill, Michael Bacall ('Scott Pilgrim vs. the World'), Rodney Rothman ('Late Show with David Letterman') and Oren Uziel ('Mortal Kombat: Rebirth'). It is set to be released in the UK on June 6th 2014.

Mila Kunis Plays Cleaner Jupiter Jones In 'Jupiter Ascending.'
Kunis plays Jupiter Jones, a Russian toilet cleaner whose convinced her life will never amount to anything important on a grand scale. However, her humble existence is soon turned upside down when she encounters Channing Tatum's elf-like Caine, an interplanetary warrior, who tells Jupiter that she was born under a special night sky, with the stars pointing towards an extraordinary event and an incredible destiny.
Jupiter Jones is an impoverished janitor who dreams of a life with much more purpose than she is living. She is convinced that her life will always be one of the many in the world that is simply unimportant, but there are others out there who think differently. Jupiter was born under a night sky whose stars traced a very definite and critical destiny for her. Little does she know that the Earth is a tiny speck in a much larger cosmos ruled over by Queen of the Universe, but also that her genetic make-up makes her the one and only threat to the Queen as she is biologically destined to usurp her title. When an attempt is made on her life, she is rescued by former military hunter Caine; a genetically modified hybrid with human and wolf DNA. Will Jupiter find the strength to fulfil her destiny? Or is it something she could simply do without?

With this writing-directing debut, Joseph Gordon-Levitt delivers a remarkably assured comedy-drama while also giving himself a role that's far against his usual type. It's raucously hilarious but also surprisingly involving as it reveals the vulnerabilities of a strutting hard-man. And we're having so much fun that we barely notice that the script's approach to addiction is somewhat simplistic.
The title character is such a dude that his friends call him "the don", in reference to New Jersey gangsters. And Jon (Gordon-Levitt) has his life figured out, with a list of things he cares for: his body, home, car, family, church, friends and girls. In that order. But above everything else, his main obsession is porn. Then while hanging with his friends Bobby and Danny (Brown and Luke) he spots Barbara (Johansson), a perfect "dime" who's worth playing the long game for. Except that she has zero tolerance for pornography, so he has to hide his addiction from her, only confessing to his parish priest and an unexpectedly sympathetic fellow student (Moore) at night school.
Like a character from Jersey Shore, Jon is such a charming loser that we can't help but love him. But despite the macho swagger and gym-honed physique, he's also deeply devoted to his parents (the fabulous Danza and Headly) and happiest when he's cleaning his flat. Gordon-Levitt wouldn't be the first actor you'd think of in this role, but he plays it perfectly, letting us see the little boy behind the tough-guy posturing and making us believe that he's fallen for the charms of this idealised woman (Johansson is simply hysterical).

The People's Choice Awards this year welcome back the usual suspects.
It’s that time of the year again – time for the most important awards of the season, the People’s Choice Awards (wink, wink, nudge, nudge.) This year the favorites are easy to pick out from the crowd. The award show will be held in January and today was the day that the nominees were finally announced.
The super successful Katy Perry is the favorite in several musical categories.
In the world of TV, Glee is the favorite, with eight nominations, proving that nothing can keep this show down. That may or may not be a good thing. Meanwhile, Katy Perry seems to be the people’s favorite when it comes to music. The Roar singer has nabbed five nods. Coincidentally, that’s also Sandra Bullock’s number. The Gravity actress heads up the movie division.

Channing and co. are producing a burlesque docu-series for A&E.
Channing Tatum has apparently decided to follow the age-old wisdom and do what he knows – namely, a reality programme about a strip club. The as-of-yet-untitled project will be an hour-long docu-series, produced for A&E. According to Variety, it will be centered around Tatum heading into the New Orleans burlesque club Saints and Sinners, which Tatum opened with friend and biz partner Keith Kurtz in 2012.
Tatum is returning to his roots - more or less.
Tatum has plenty of experience in the biz, and he even began his dance career as a stripper, under a pseudonym.

Angelina Jolie is the top of the Forbes highest earning actresses list. Jolie has not been seen in a big-budget movie for three years so her position is slightly surprising. Also in the top five are: Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Aniston and Emma Stone.
Angelina Jolie returns to the top of the Forbes highest paid actress list after a three year break since her last big-budget movie.

That's not to suggest Jolie has been lazing about, quite the contrary, she has written and directed her first film The Land of Blood and Honey; opted for a double mastectomy following the discovery she carries the BRCA1 gene and wrote a New York Times article on her operation.
The actor confirmed the production over Twitter.
There’s no denying the success of Magic Mike – for whatever reason, the film, which was made for just $7 million, out of Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh’s own pockets, went on to make $167 million internationally. After such an unexpected success, it seems natural that Tatum and Soderbergh would look to extend the Magic Mike brand – rumors are swirling of an upcoming sequel, but before that, Broadway seems like a perfect fit for the story.
Tatum funded the film out of his own pocket.
After all, the film already features a company of dancing men, not to mention lots and lots of costume changes. It’s practically a Broadway hit, waiting to be made. The only thing missing to turn this into a musical is the songs. Speaking of which, Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, creators of award-winning show Next to Normal, have been signed up to write the songs, while Glee’s very own Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been enlisted to pen the book.
Continue reading: Channing Tatum To Produce Broadway Adaptation Of Magic Mike
Finally, the "Magic Mike" musical is more than just a rumor.
We don’t tend to think of Magic Mike as high entertainment (actually, we rarely think of it at all,) but all that might be about to change with Channing Tatum’s announcement that the film will be adapted into a Broadway musical. In any case, hot male strippers singing and dancing live for a couple of hours? We would have absolutely no problem with the idea. Deadline was first to announce the news, also introducing the writing team - Next to Normal's Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will write the songs and Glee writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will pen the script.
The new dad might stay behind the scnes for this one.
This project has been in the works for over a year now, with Channing Tatum hinting at a musical adaptation. And of course, the questions of whether he would actually appear onstage – because what’s Magic Mike without Channing Tatum – have been rampant. Tatum does have a producer’s credit on the show, but it doesn’t look likely that he himself will appear onstage.
Is Robert Downey really worth $75 million a year?
Robert Downey has obliterated the field in Forbes' annual list of the highest paid actors in the world, earning $75 million in just 12 months thanks to super-hits The Avengers and Iron Man 3.
Robert Downey Jr As Tony Stark in 'Iron Man 3'
Downey Jr didn't even feature in last year's list, though beat second place Channing Tatum by over $30 million in earnings for 2013. He also left the likes of Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington in his dust, begging the question: is a man once considered box-office poison by studios really worth the cash?

'Grown Ups 2' has beaten off 'Pacific Rim' in the US Weekend Box Office. 'Despicable Me 2' remains at No.1 for the second week since its release. New releases, due on 19th July, may alter the somewhat stagnant Box Office next week.
Grown Ups 2 has placed ahead of Pacific Rim in the US Weekend Box Office. Adam Sandler's comedy received highly critical reviews, in contrast with the mixed response Pacific Rim received.

Critics may have universally panned Adam Sandler's latest comedic contribution yet it's somehow managed to beat the other new release, Pacific Rim, in the US Weekend Box Office (12th-14th July). Despicable Me 2 topped the Box Office charts for the second week in a row.
Describing your wife as "completely sane" is one thing, but revealing she was also your ''sugar mama'' is something else entirely.
Channing Tatum's wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, apparently used to be his ''sugar mama''. The Tatums met one another on the set of 2006's 'Step Up' and recently had a daughter, Everly, together. Channing Tatum is now a bit of a household name, but back in the days when he was struggling to pay his rent, Jenna was there for him. This led him to believe that she was the woman he was destined to spend his life with.
The 33-year-old star of the upcoming 'White House Down' took part in an interview with 'Elle' website, saying: ''I was broke and I couldn't pay my half of the rent when we were first together. She was basically my sugar mama for six months.'' He also relayed the story of a holiday the two shared in Hawaii, which tested and strengthened their relationship in its early days.

Disney's The Lone Ranger may struggle to recoup its $250 million budget.
Disney's big-budget The Lone Ranger may only earn $50 million at the box-office this weekend after getting crushed by Universal's Despicable Me 2 in the opening few days of the box-office. The Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig voiced family flick is tracking for a $35 million Wednesday, whereas The Lone Ranger should only take around $11 million.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Despicable Me 2 will prove to be a huge box office hit over the Fourth of July weekend, with strong reviews and the hugely popular Minions leading the promotional trail. Meanwhile, The Lone Ranger - with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer - is likely to take around $50 million, meaning it will need to do huge business internationally to recoup its mega budget of $250 million. Director Gore Verbinski and Depp reunited with Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Buckheimer, though the Hollywood A-lister's casting as Tonto appears to have been a misguided move and audiences appear underwhelmed with Hammer as the Ranger.

'Monsters University' has remained at No.1 in the weekend box office. Responses to the two new releases: 'The Heat' and 'White House Down' have differed greatly. 'Superman: Man of Steel' remains stoically in the top 5.
Monsters University spent its second week at No.1 in the US Weekend Box Office grossing $46.2 million. The sequel of Monsters Inc. follows the early, not so jovial, relationship of Sulley and Mike as they attend college. Monsters University includes some big names from the acting community including Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and Dame Helen Mirren.

Disney Pixar’s animation has fended off competition from Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s cop comedy The Heat. The comedy has received favourable reviews and the weekend box office reflects this, grossing since its release on Friday $40 million.

Channing Tatum has promised there will be a 'Magic Mike 2'. The actor has even suggested he may direct the movie.
Tatum is unsure if director Steven Soderburgh, who directed the first Magic Mike film, will be returning for the sequel. He said Soderburgh "really wants to be done directing movies". This has raised the possibility that Tatum could step into the director's shoes as well as starring. He said he would "shoot the sequel" despite being nervous about doing so.

Comedies don't get much more self-referential than this film, in which a bunch of old friends get together and play themselves facing a biblical-style apocalypse. But they also don't get much funnier. Writing partners Rogen and Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express) move into directing with this super-charged bromance that finds surprising resonance amid a constant barrage of vulgarity, in-jokes and end-of-the-world mayhem.
Rogen also stars as himself, happy that his childhood friend Jay is coming to visit him in Los Angeles. Jay prefers to live at home in Canada, far from the plastic L.A. scene, so Seth sets aside the first day with video games and lots of weed. Then they head to James' house for a starry Hollywood party, during which a series of massive earthquakes kills off most of the A-list guests. Seth, Jay and James survive, along with Jonah, Craig and Danny, and as they set up camp in James' mansion, their friendships are strained. Mainly because Danny eats their supply of food, Jay wants to go home, and Jonah is simply too nice to be believed. Until he's possessed by an angry demon.
The blinding array of cameos gives the film's early scenes a terrific kick, as big stars hilariously spoof their public personas before meeting a variety of fiery ends. An especially spiky Watson gets a few extra scenes of her own, while Cera has the most fun as a diva obsessed with sex and drugs. And Tatum gets the most jaw-dropping moment. But it's our six heroes who hold the film together, and their camaraderie adds a surprising warmth, most notably in the central bromance between Rogen and Baruchel.
