A representative for the Confident hitmaker, real name Chancelor Bennett, broke the news to fans on Twitter.com on Friday (24Apr15), although the message stopped short of listing the affected dates.

The spokesperson wrote, "Chance is resting and hoping to make a full recovery soon, We apologize for the shows we are rescheduling & will keep you updated."

The nature of Chance the Rapper's ailment is unclear, but earlier in the day, he tweeted, "I just ate (in it's entirety) THEE most undercooked piece of meat ever. If anything happens.. drop surf (his new album)".

He is next due onstage in Michigan on Tuesday (28Apr15) and in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday (30Apr15).

It's not the first time illness has prompted Chance to cancel performances - a year ago (Apr14), he had to pull out of his second weekend set at the Coachella festival in California after he was struck down with a bout of influenza and tonsillitis, while a mystery ailment forced him to bow out of a show in Alabama last May (14). He was also sidelined by exhaustion last summer (14) and had to scrap a string of concerts across the U.S.
