Celine Dion will dedicate the 8 May (05) performance of her Las Vegas show NEW DAY to raising money for victims of last year's (04) devastating Indian Ocean tsunami.
Proceeds from the US Mother's Day performance at Caesars Palace will go to Unicef's TSUNAMI RECOVERY FUND to help with relief and reconstruction in the region.
Dion says in a statement, "Our goal is to raise $1 million but we're hoping to go far beyond that since all the money is going to UNICEF to help these people get their lives back."
Funds are also being raised through sponsorship packages, a commemorative programme book, collection boxes in the venue and a silent auction.
The auction will include a private dinner with Dion and her husband, RENE ANGELIL, prepared by their personal chef.26/04/2005 21:24
