A New Jersey judge has barred one of the people handling the affairs of the late singer Celia Cruz from making any deals regarding her estate.
The decision came at the request of the other executor for the Cruz estate, as well as the guardian appointed to represent Cruz's husband, PEDRO KNIGHT, who died last month (FEB07).
Co-executor OMER PARDILLO had charged that co-executor LUIS FALCON was spending money intended for Cruz's husband, who had been ailing before his death on 3 February (07).
According to the lawsuit filed by Pardillo, Falcon had drained funds from accounts for Knight, made extravagant expenditures and failed to account for transfers of more than $1 million (GBP513,000) from Cruz's estate.
Cruz, who was known as the 'Queen of Salsa', died of a brain tumour in 2003.
